Now for those of you who are new to this nightmare, Anonymous Army created fake evidence in order to discredit a dying cancer patient who also happened to be a voting rights advocate. His name was Andy Stephenson and he was my friend. But this plant did not stop there... he went after Brad Friedman, Marc Crispin Miller, Ben Burch, me, Will Pitt, Jason Leopold, and so forth.

I'm sure you can see why this is of interest-- JL is suffering from questionable credibility at the moment, and this suggests a further bit of playing one hand against the other to see who folds first. To be frank, the question of whether that post is Jason Leopold misrepresenting himself is rather central to its credibility, or at least readers deserve to have that information so they can make informed decisions about how much credibility to invest in it. So does JL use the name Harry Shep, and if so, how can we know that the email is not from him? If it is from him, why is he misrepresenting himself in this matter? used in in any communications forwarded to me by others nor his communications with me. he sent an email once to anon army telling him to stop attacking him, that was in early May (he copied me on it) but he sent it from his regular email... so i don't understand what is going on. but no, i cannot say for sure one way or another because i can only speak of my own experience.

Since I am on a roll here. I might as well out myself and say that, yes, I am the "harry shep" that posted comments here that were inflammatory and rude and obnoxious and mean and crude and were directed toward some of the people who run this site. It was a cowardly thing to do and I apologize. I acted impulsively because I had interpreted some of the analysis to be a direct "hit" on one of my stories. However, it became obvious to the people who run this site that my pseudonym was not a good cover because the IP address revealed my true identity. It was a total immature reaction and there was truly no excuse for it. So to the people who run this site I sincerely apologize for being such an immature, thin-skinned prick. I hope you can forgive me.
