Bush Military History Project #14
This is being written as a journal in democraticunderground.com and crossposted on Dailykos, Truthout and Myleftwing.
I urge readers of this series to obtain a copy of Unfit Commander by Glenn Smith, the only source of Bush’s military papers in chronological order. Where internet references are not easily available I will give page numbers of this book for reference.
I also urge readers to become familiar with the report by Lt Col Gerald Lechliter, published in the NY Times, available at: http://www.nytimes.com/packages/pdf/opinion/lechliter.pdf Or Google: NY Times Gerald Lechliter. I will be referring to both of these sources in this study.
I can be reached at [email protected]

Journal entry #14

Throughout this story there’s been false leads scattered all over to obscure some basic questions—like: Who’s responsible to prove the CBS memos real or false? Why haven’t they done it? Why did neither Bush nor his aides ever deny they were real, only send out surrogates to do their fighting?

Where was the Bush family outrage? Forging documents about someone’s military service is an outrageous crime! Yet not one member of the Bush family demanded an investigation or law enforcement against someone forging federal documents about George W Bush. We heard from Laura that she thought at least one was forged—we heard from Barbara that she was proud of her boy for service in the guard, But we heard NOTHING from George W Bush or GHWB either—why not? And we did not hear one single Bush family member demanding that the federal government do something about it. Nor Any Republicans either—think that was part of the plan? ( we heard some slight squeaks from Democrats—which went nowhere)

And one of the most basic questions about the CBS papers that was never asked by anyone--and especially by George W Bush and his family—is: Are there any more? Think about it: if you found out your commander had been keeping a secret file on you with papers that could be forged—wouldn’t you want to know if there was more? Wouldn’t you demand to see that file and everything in it? Wouldn’t you want to know if there were any more forged papers about you? Not George Bush and the Republican Party. They never even sent an FBI agent, or ANY federal agent, out to ask Burkett where he got them from or if there were any more. But they want you to think they’re forged..

George Bush and the Republicans don’t want to know if there was any more of those papers and they don’t want you to know either—that’s why they’re not investigating or prosecuting allegedly forged federal military orders that, if forged, libel their President, his military record and his superiors. They’re not investigating or prosecuting the highest profile, most notorious case of forged federal documents ever. Bush wants to know who leaked the NSA scandal but he and the Republicans don’t want to know who forged federal documents about him nor if there are any more. And they don’t want you to know either. And they want you to think the CBS memos are forged but they don’t want to prove it officially.

I hope I’ve raised some suspicions here—this is a very, very curious state of affairs—the federal government is refusing/evading to investigate papers that Bush and the republicans want you to think are forged and have gone to great lengths to make you think are forged, but are unwilling to prove officially. Every way but the legal, due process way.

America, please understand this: there are due and legal processes by which federal documents are proven or disproven. These involve the services of federal crime labs and federal investigators with investigative powers like compulsion under oath and subpoenas. They do NOT involve the opinions of bloggers, CBS, Rather, or any CBS “investigation” that has no legal standing whatsoever.

These law enforcement resources are 24/7—there is no need for you to make a complaint, they should spring into action as soon as falsity of federal documents are alleged. America needs to be protected from fraud surrounding federal documents—fraud like this. None of this happened, did it?

Bush and the Republicans refuse to use the law enforcement resources, of which they are in complete control, to decide this case. Instead, they only settled this the “back door” way.

Bush and the Republicans are hiding behind the “findings” of an “investigation” that has no legal standing whatsoever and never disproved the papers anyway. The CBS “investigation” was a dog and pony show to try to convince you that the matter had been investigated and settled. It was not and it did not, it was a smoke screen to hide the fact that the federal government (G Bush commanding) was evading their duty to resolve this issue. It was a chance for some of the participants—like Hodges—to voice whatever they want to say but under no oath or legal binding at all. The CBS “investigation” is no substitute for a federal investigation at all, like Emily Marks word is no substitute for records and the words of the commanders. Its what Bush and Co use to trump the facts—with help from CBS and the rest of the media, but its not real.

America—you’ve been screwed by your people in power—how hard is that to believe? You have a right and need to know if the CBS memos are real or not. You have a right and need to know if your president disobeyed a lawful order. You have the right and need to know the true circumstance of Bush’s suspension. You have the right and need to know if crimes were committed on his behalf by him and his superiors.

You should have known this before the last election but were failed by both the media, who cravenly looked the other way on Bush’s discrepancies and focused only on the Swiftboat lies, and by the federal government, which had the duty to resolve this swiftly but abdicated this important responsibility to bloggers and CBS.
Demand a federal investigation of the CBS memos and proper law enforcement—they’re federal documents! And America’s been screwed!

In BMHP # 13 we discussed more of the falsifications on the OER and how the CBS memos relate to them.
As we go through the memos, have in the back of your mind one good question: how did the forger know all this stuff? What we’re talking about is a small, intimate conspiracy to falsify official documents—this only involved at most 4 or 5 people. When Killian says “I will backdate but not rate” how did the “forger” know that’s what Killian did?
The facts revealed in the CBS memos, that I’m explaining to you here, show an intimate knowledge of Killians thoughts and actions and reflect the falsifications apparent throughout Bush’s records in a way that no one not completely intimate with Bush’s illegal situation could come up with.
That would be quite some person, to think he could forge documents about Bush, bringing in new and disreputable circumstances, like the order to take the physical, that Bush nor his aides wouldn’t know about or couldn’t disprove.
If the papers are forged, who is that person? Bush doesn’t want to know, does he?
I’ll get back to the specifics of the crimes in the next installment of the Bush Military History Project
