Reid, Hackett, and Brown: Connections over policies?

Reid told Hackett apparently that Brown was going to get the Dems' support for Senate in Ohio.

Is this evidence of the Dems having preordained candidates?

Only those with connections and that have been "in the family" will get the big nod for senate?

I'll continue to give Reid the benefit of the doubt.

I'll try not to be "divisive", but I won't stand for any of what I think may be going on. I can post it. You don't have to like it.

Hackett yelled at Reid for something. I highly doubt it had anything to do with Miers as the people reporting it were not part of the conversation. However, a day later after Hackett yells at Reid we find out that Brown is now running. There is at least the appearance of something going on behind the scenes here. You may call it "unsupported", but I see it as mearly bringing up the subject with a reasonable amount of info from other threads. If the mods don't like it, they have my support to pull the thread.

A few days later, what I was speculating had happened, actually was revealed as what happened.

I also found out that Schumer, not Reid was the one responsible.

Just so you know, I actually like Brown, and not Hackett as much, but the interference there was 100% wrong and I called it as such.

all this is in regards to Schumer and the DSCC apparently want war

Schumer just gave Lieberman permission to quit the Democratic Party:

Schumer said that the DSCC "fully supports" Sen. Joe Lieberman in his primary bid, and he refused to rule out continuing that support if Lieberman were to run as an independent.

There were degrees of independence, Schumer said. "You can run as an independent, you can run as an independent Democrat who pledges to vote for Harry Reid as Majority Leader."

That's true, when there isn't a Democrat on the ballot, like in Vermont. Connecticut isn't Vermont.

The DSCC's mission is to support Democrats in elections.

Our mission is to elect more Democrats to the United States Senate. We are the largest organization committed to electing a Democratic Senate in the country. From grass-roots organizing to candidate recruitment to providing campaign funds for tight races, the DSCC is working hard all year, every year to increase the number of Democratic Senators.

Supporting Lieberman over Lamont would be a violation of this mission.

Schumer is a Democrat. He runs the DSCC. He needs to respect the will of the Democratic voters in Connecticut.

Update: Reid's office refuses to comment on this. The "Lieberman Problem" in all its glory.

3. Which, I think, is still a big "if"...
Schumer is, of course, going to heap support on the incumbent. But if Lieberman loses the primary to Lamont, the party will go with its own man, not a newly independent Joe. Count on it.

Schumer has to deal with Lieberman in the Senate evryday. So, naturally, he's going to support him as long as he has to deal with him. But if Joe loses the primary, Schumer no longer has any reason to play nice with Joe, and he does have every reason to support his own party.

If Lamont wins, Schumer will stab Lieberman in the back.

9. I Hope You're Right
That business in Ohio really bugged me, too. I tend to wonder if Schumer's junior colleague wouldn't step in to tell him to use the DSCC's dollars to support Lamont if he wins the primary.

6. Liberman is a traitor to the Democrats(Bush Kiss)
If I was a democrat and saw that Judas Kiss there is NO WAY he should be supported by the Democrats

The democrats have traitors inside the organization... Liberman is just one of them... and to think Gore had him as his Vice President Awful!!!
