Why does it seem that all of the Progressive talk shows are
Edited on Wed Jun-07-06 04:28 PM by BuyingThyme
talking about exactly what the Pukes want them to talk about?

Man, we need new leaders so these people will have somebody to follow. And don't give the Dem talking point about how Reid and Pelosi can't get the message out because the Pukes control the media outlets. They could be on the Progressive shows right now. They're not.

We either have to get rid of Reid and Pelosi, or find a way to get around their upcoming sabotage of the midterms. Reid and Pelosi have no desire to lead; they see their leadership positions as door prizes.

Thank you for your support.

1. Errr, maybe becaue it's true?
I heard a few comments today on several different shows.

"What would the Pubs be doing right now if they believed the election had been stolen by Gore or Kerry?"

"We're told to get over it, 2000 & 2004 are in the past! Well, if someone stole my car, my TV or some other possession, and they were found, would I say, awe, that's OK, it was in the past???"

I realize the Dems are hamstrung as far as legislation is concerned, but nobody has duckt tape over their mouths! You can't tell me that if any of the Dem leaders stepped into the Press area in DC, that the throngs of reporters wouldn't scramble to film what they had to say!

You may say the LW talk shows are talking aobut that the Pubs want us to talk about, but I happen to think theyre just saying what they think is wrong!

2. You should listen to Rachael Maddow and Laura Flanders
They often go beyond the usual talking points and the tepid spin of both parties into the real meat and potatoes of issues you don't usually hear about.

3. They could indeed appear on progressive radio...
and that is well and good. What are they going to do? Preach to the choir? Not a very big choir. I still say that if the MSM would to do their job, we could have actual fairness and balance.

4. 70% of the country is a pretty big choir.
All we need is a couple good leaders, not these whispering freaks.

6. Where's The Local Progressive Radio?
With the exception of a precious few stations, most of the "Progressive" radio talk shows are national...none on the local level to either follow up on the local angle of things and developing connections with their listeners. In Chicago, the AAR affiliate is a joke...the third largest market in the nation and the home of some fine talk show hosts...many who sit at home or have moved on to other lives. The station does precious little promotion and its ratings, as have many AAR stations, have stagnated. Sadly, the network's growth has maxed out as well as we're not seeing new affiliates coming on...especially in the "red states"...and many are just surviving by a thread.

Meanwhile, great resources such as Public and Community stations, such as Pacifica get little attention (especially on these boards), where there's a wealth of real news and information rather than preaching to a choir.

Yes, I agree...Democrats and "Progressive" talk radio has taken the bait...instead of taking the forefront on issues such as corruption, high oil prices and the Iraq War, I hear the talk about "illegal" immigration, FMA and other issues that are being used to both unite the right wing base and distract from everything else. Sadly, if these shows continue to play the right wing's tune...as we just saw in the Cal. 50th race, Democrats lose (especially with lackluster candidates who haven't mastered crafting a message and standing for something rather than against).
