Who owns my body?
That is the only question for which I want an answer from candidates in the future? Who owns my coporeal self? As women, it is the most fundamental question we can ask now.

A. the state
B. my husband or oldest living male relative
C. me

These are the only three responses that can be made. They need to pick one.

7. We have come a long way, baby.
Sometimes I think of that saying as a bunch of bull. Women are not united on the issue of our own reproductive rights. The ones to blame are the pro life women. They choose that belief over wanting to have rights over their own bodies. Even if you are against abortion, you should still be willing to unite with other women so that a bunch of stupid fat white men do not choose for us! I am a pro choice Christian. I want women to be treated as equals to men. They can do whatever they want to their bodies. I do not think we should ask their opinion on this subject or let them voice one. They are not the ones who are going to be forced to carry pregnancies they do not want. We are still treated like cattle in some ways. We have a long way to go.

8. As a fat white woman
I do have to point out that it is not just fat white men. Black churches (in this area there is one on every street) are also big in the anti-abortion crusades and Hispanic men, usually Catholic, are far from being pro-choice.

But the fat white men get the most media attention for sure.

10. None of those people are US Senators
or on the Senate Judicial Committee and Diane Fienstein is fairly white and pasty but I wouldn't call her fat.

11. It's not only fat white men who feel that way, but the ones in power...
... are the ones you need to worry about.

13. Is this a trick question?

You presumably want us to assume that you're still alive, in which case the answer is "C, but A has the right to set limits on what you do with it".

However, you're using the term "body" rather than "flesh" or just "me". There has to be a reason for that. I suspect that you are in fact a corpse, and so I'm going to go with B, on the assumption that if you have a husband he probably has rights of disposal.

14. Only four possibilities I can think of
Edited on Sat Jan-14-06 11:04 AM by slackmaster
Or four and a half depending on how you look at it.

1. If you are a living citizen who is not a member of the military, you do.

2. If you are a living member of the military, the federal government does.

3. If you are dead and have living next of kin, they do (unless you have willed your body to someone else, in which case they do).

4. If you are dead and have no next of kin, the state does.

17. Hi Skidmore. I think its up to women, with the help of good men,
to take our bodies and our dignity back.

I can't believe the issue of an abortion, (another term for it would be DNC) has become such a tabu, divisive subject. Unfortunately, women for the most part, are not taught to fight for ourselves as much as we are taught to fight for our husbands and our children. We need to fight for the protection and dominion over our own bodies. We need to do that together.

Thanks for posting.
