Was the popular during Viet Nam? I can't believe I've never heard it before. It's an absolutely great song.

I have XM Radio, and once a year the "decades channels" attempt to play all charted hit pop songs from the 1930s through 1999. Last year they played "Bring the Boys Home" as part of their '70s hits, only I swear I heard her singing "Bring the girls home" too, and the arrangement sounded more modern.
