The personality trait I loathe the most about Bush on display now
His arrogance. His unchecked arrogance.

Where does it come from?

Its not as though he is accomplished or intelligent? What does he have to be arrogant about?

And, moreover, I really despise the condescending manner in which he catapults his propaganda.

He treats every policy he has, no matter how poorly planned, no matter how ill-conceived, no matter how radical or extreme, as though it should already be accepted by every American, as though it were common sense.

"We only monitor calls from terrorists", for example. Not only is that probably a lie, but he does it in a very condescending manner.

He acts like you are the asshole for not already believing his lies before he tells them.

He is absolutely disgusting.

"See, we need to add new technologies to the new people we're training"

"We're gonna build high-tech fences"

"Americans expect us to secure the border"

Well, no shit, Sherlock.

If you are gonna get up and speak as though all the answers are obvious, and as though you have all the answers, then maybe you can explain to us why none of your policies ever seem to pan out...

1. Where does the arrogance come from?
That's easy. It comes from growing up rich and having everything handed to him all his life. He's never actually had to earn or do anything.

2. I hate it when he says "In other words..."
He'll make a statement, like, the sky is blue, and then say, "in other words, the sky has a color, and the color is blue" As if you're too dense to get it the first time, so he has to rephrase it for you.

4. Great example
As though this drug abusing, alcoholic moron were too smart for me, and therefore had to dumb things down so I could understand him.

I know a Republican who I used to consider a friend that used to tell me that Bush was actually quite intelligent, and just acted stupid so he could appeal to the public.

I would always answer, "He acts dumb to appeal to you? He must think you are really fucking stupid, then"

6. Phoney intellectualizing...
It sorta sounds like he's saying something more complex than he is. It gives Bush's half-witted supporters the illusion their guy is something more than a moran.

5. It's typical
It's typical for the monied elite to have that attitude. I worked at the Newport Yahting center as a night watchperson while I was in school and The Shrub's attitude is so typical of that crowd. They sincerely believe they are better than everyone else.

Normally, I wouldn't use that terminology because I think people with low self-esteem use it to attack other people. The whole "You think you're better/smarter than everyone else is usally used to keep people down. But in this case, it's very fitting.

America's super-rich -- the ones born that way, really do think the rest of us exist to serve them. And that's not class warfare, that's a fact.
