| Question about evil same-sex marriage |
|
Has anyone ever heard an argument against it that didn't amount to either:
"I base my objection on my own primitive, regressive understanding of someone else's primitive, regressive take on an ancient book translated and re-translated one hundred times over."
or
"I find the thought of same-sex marriage to be aesthetically unappealing for some reason or other, so we should ban it forever."
or
"If we ban same-sex marriage, then men/women like me will never have to worry about whether or not we're attracted to John/Jane."
Can anyone else think of a different formulation? Do date, I've never heard one, and all of the above are flatly unconvincing as arguments against the right to equal marriage.

"I don't want gay marriage because then gays will get family benefits from companies and that will raise costs" I've heard this one...

blowhard to explain just HOW gay marriage "threatens heterosexual marriages". I mean just one coherent or incoherent explanation is all I want.
