Freeper email and my response.
I thought you all might look at this and say wow!!! Tell Dad go Ollie!!! Al
Gore, Bill Clinton and Warren Christopher!!!! Let's hope the Republicans can
find someone for 2008, or we all may end up------------------!!!! God Bless
America!!!!

Thought you might be interested in this forgotten bit of information..........

It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration.

There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning!

He was being drilled by a senator; "Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?"

Ollie replied, "Yes, I did, Sir."

The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, "Isn't that just a little excessive?"

"No, sir," continued Ollie.

"No? And why not?" the senator asked.

"Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir."

"Threatened? By whom?" the senator questioned.

"By a terrorist, sir" Ollie answered.

"Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?"

"His name is Osama bin Laden, sir" Ollie replied.

At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?" the senator asked.

"Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of", Ollie answered.

"And what do you recommend we do about him?" asked the senator.

"Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth."

The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip.

By the way, that senator was Al Gore!

Also:
Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners."

However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands. The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released.

Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center . This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified.
It was censored in the US from all later reports.
If you agree that the American public should be made aware of this fact, pass this on.

My response: I have to say I was a tad tipsy when I sent this or I might not have. It went to some big time freepers. Ha. Ha. Ha.

And the moron in chief, yes that is Bush, was told in the Presidential Daily Briefing of August 5, 2001, that there was a high probablity that Osama bin Laden would hijack planes and plow them into sky scrapers but he was too busy restoriing 'honor and integrity to thie White House" to read the information in front of him.

Stop watching Fox News. This rPresident is the worst thing to happen to this country in its 200 year inception and anyone who doesn't recognize what a threat he and his administration are to the Constitution of the United States is delusional.

Read the Downing Street Minutes. Read something other than the Times Dispatch before it is too late.

Are the people of this country stupid enough to believe what he says about Iran after what he said about Iraq proved to be a lie? Are we going to let what happened at Haditha just be 'part of war?'. Dear God, I pray not.

2. You should have included the snopes.com debunking
Edited on Fri Jun-02-06 01:53 PM by Richardo
plus a link to COL NORTH'S OWN WEBSITE where he debunks this ridiculous story.

Note: Not Gore, but a committee lawyer. Not Osama, but Abu Nidal. The Mohammed Atta mentioned was not the same guy as the hijacker. and on. and on.

5. An even better response would be to point out that the e-mail they sent...
was a complete fabrication. Refuted by Oliver North himself:

6. I love it when they forward things without updating the dates in them
That chain letter has been kept alive since 9/11 for three whole years. Obviously, your friend doesn't know what year it is.

I caught one that said, "The election is 60 days away...think about it." (I love the ones that add "think about it.") By the time my freeper posted it, the election was about 48 days away. I told him to make sure to vote in 60 days -- about two weeks after the election.
