How Much Do You Pay a Month for Gas and Oil?
I'm just curious.

If I filled up my tank twice a week I would be paying more than my house payment or my car payment or my health insurance payment.

Why can't Congress get a grip on how much this is hurting the MiddleClass and Working Class.

It really is making a huge difference in disposable income.

2. You must not have to drive very far.
One bad thing about Kansas City - it is just so spread out that we have to drive to get where we are going - sometimes many miles.

6. Well, I do about 35 miles round trip a day. That's just work and back
not much room for anything else really. The grocery store is a few blocks away and all the other stores are fairly close. It's not that I don't want to drive more, just can't afford to anymore.

12. Unless you work and live downtown KC
I spend about $20 every 6 weeks on gas...Unfortunately, there isn't any grocery stores downtown and I have to travel to Westport for that.

3. Just shy of $400.00/month.
Diesel is expensive and like you I am in an area where you have to drive. The one bad thing about rural living.

4. $100-$120 a month depending on prices.
I only drive 30 miles round-trip to work, so I don't really use a lot of gas.

5. filling up twice a week? That's a lot of gasoline. Non-vacation, our
monthly driving combined amounts to 1500 miles. That's under $120.

7. Directly? None
I had a car for three years, and sold it back with only 3812 miles on it.

Now, I walk, bicycle, take the bus or borrow a vehicle from Flexcar. So, directly, I don't pay for gasoline at all. As for natural gas and heating oil, again, nothing: my apartment has electrical appliances and heating.

8. If we had to use both cars every day, it would be around $640/month
but since i can work from home and we limit driving on weekends...we spend around $350 a month on gas.

9. Fuel & Oil
I am retired now from the trucking business for which I am
very glad. I was an owner operater so I had to buy all of my
fuel and so on out of my pocket. The truck that I owned at the
time got about 6 Miles to the gallon and had a tank capacity
of 300 gals. average daily miles was about 400 miles per day 6
days a week. I don't know what the pump price for diesel is
these days but if you do the math. you will find that the fuel
bill for a small business trucker is out of sight, they are
going broke by the hundreds and everything that we have moves
by truck at one time or another. One more thing that we can
thank Bush & Co. for!
