I quoted him a bit in a memorial talk I gave at a church in Detroit yesterday. He said in a recent blog post that "There will be no day for the dead of Katrina. There is no day for those lost on The Middle Passage. There is no day for Wounded Knee or the Trail of Tears. There is no day for the 9-11 of women killed each year by men in the US, mostly those who claim to love them. And there will be no day to celebrate or remember the lives of those lost at My Lai or Haditha."

I was already planning to talk about Katrina and the Trail of Tears because that's all tied up together with veterans issues for me anyway, but that gave me some clarity of thought as to how to pull it all together. Looking forward to hearing him.
