Ken Lay acts like a man who knows he's NOT going to prison.
I'm not making any predictions, many have speculated that he may be pardoned by that guy who barely knows him, George W. Bush, who is apparently the president. But at yesterday's press gaggle Lay didn't go all weepy or meltdown before the cameras like Duke Cunningham did.

Could it be that Kenny knows he's not ever going to prison?

1. my guess is that when and if w leaves the whitehouse he will give
'em all a pardon, so if he does go it will be only for a very short time.

9. I think these things are calculated risks.
They steal billions to return millions in penalty fees, if caught. And they commit treason, knowing that their crony in the White House will issue a pardon. The worst that will happen is that they'll return to the private world. Or, more to the point, they'll go from Christian private school to Christian private school receiving speaker fees for a living.

Not bad work if you can get it. Certainly works for Oliver North.

2. If you gave Bush
With the help of Enron $602,000.00 would you expect a pardon?

4. eh... kenny boy thought he wasn't going to be found guilty
i just suspect the man is completely delusional, though i agree with jack cafferty that the bastards should be held in some kind of holding facility (gitmo?) till their sentences are announced.

5. He's not....
Pure and simple. Just as Poppa Bush pardoned the Iran-Contra people, so will Shrub pardon Kenny-Boy and crowd.

6. He had a few hours to compose himself
No rushing Jr's friend right out to the camera's. No, he got to hole up for some time first.

7. That is of course because he is not.
He'll appeal his way out of that conviction, or he'll just be pardoned.

8. I happen to believe Kenny Boy nd Jeffrey ARE going to serve time.
I realize this could be wishful thinking on my part, but I still believe it. Shrub MIGHT grant a pardon in January 09, but until then...the boys are going to enjoy some unfriendly accomodations with small rooms and no gourmet menu.

10. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he skips bail

I'm surprised not to see more outrage that he is still a free man. And no home confinement or ankle bracelet. Sure it would cost him $5 million to jump bail but the alternative is dying in prison. I am sure he has several million stashed away from his years of crime, which should be more than enough to get safe passage to some country with no extradition treaty.

I hope the police are keeping a close watch on him.
