2. About the NPs use of the word "Jews"

I honestly can't recall seeing the word used in any "respectable" newspaper in a long time, if ever. It's always been "Jewish" or "Jewish people", IIRC.

Perhaps they're trying to invoke a sense of Nazi Germany redux--or maybe it's just me.

The "news" was a front page exclusive complete with a picture of two Jews with Nazi insignia! No, it's not just you!!! They even directed people to their website to answer a poll along the lines of "Is Ahmadinejad turning into the next Hitler?"

Check it, this is the first blurb of the story on the right:

11. I'm not being very clear.

I'm just trying to remember the last time I've seen "Jews" used in a newspaper, basically.

I think I remember seeing an interview with Alan Alda saying that he's often perceived the term "Jew" to be meant offensively when used by gentiles, so the use of the term here kind of stuck out to me.

Or maybe it's just false memory syndrome, I dunno.

What can I say? I've got an English background (that's fallen into some disuse), and "little" things like this interest me.

4. Whenever they want to go after someone, they make him "Hitler" first.

Everyone hates Hitler, except those few weird bald dudes that everyone also hates. It strikes me as an effort to try to legitimize their aggression. Just think, if we had gone after Hitler in 1939... and the beat goes on.
