Newest RW spin on Bush popularity ratings
I've seen this twice in local LTTEs in Connecticut, and also heard it on the air. They take the 4 rating categories of Excellent, Good, Fair & Poor and turn it on its ear. But, the newest Right Wing spin on Bush approval ratings is that he really has good approval ratings because the Dictionary definition of "Fair" is something along the lines of "not bad" so when you add 27% that think Bush's performance is Fair to the 24% that think his performance is Good or Excellent, it means 51% don't disapprove of Bush here in the blue state of Connecticut. (Maybe this is how Rove came up with his 60%???)

My response to that would be - so, if Bush's rating in Connecticut is 51%, that means Bill Clinton's rating must have been like 90% back in the day!

2. What about the 90 percent of polls
that have it broken down along only approve or disapprove lines? Bush is in the low-to-mid 30s in all those.

3. Well, a lot of those "disapproves" are actually just "unsettled."
But they didn't have an "unsettled" category so some of the unsettled people said "disapprove" but all they meant to say was they disapproved of being unsettled.

I hope that's clear now.

7. he pays no attention to polls, I thought?
Though, they've spent way more than Clinton on polls in 5 1/2 years than Clinton did in 8.
