media coverage of crying wife - dems will always be screwed electorally
it doesn't matter what the facts are, what reality is, or how good a message you have if no one knows about it

everyone has rolled over for this one FAUX, predictably (who also seems to have given up on the pretense of being objective), cnn, nbc, msnbc

expect the hype machine to kick this fall just as it always does (swift boat liars, wellstone funeral, etc) no real issues will get discussed and the october manfactured contoversy will be what miraculously saves the GOP

5. Why?
If the Dems even attempt to stop his confirmation, this 'episode' will be brought up by the MSM.

10. To me, it is just
a brief episode in a long hearing and the public will tire of it very quickly. But I could be wrong. It's happened.

19. Bush didn't either. It's all about perception.
Newt will say 'I have learned from my past mistakes.'
Bush will say 'vote for Newt because, well, he would
be gosh darn good for murika.'

20. I'm thinking the same thing
This is some ten months before the midterms.

This election will hinge much more on REPUBLICAN scandals (not this bullshit "Washington" scandal the media talks about), local issues (fundies will bring up the teaching of intelligent design for sure), Iraq (we have some great vets running and I heard some 9 or so have a very good chance of winning), and the economy (jobs are not all that hot in this part of the country but that could hurt the incumbent Dem governor as well).

And if Dems are smart, they'll make an issue out of the ILLEGAL wiretaps as well.

Basically, this election should be about corrupt repukes and how they believe they are above the law.

4. I know of a lot
of mothers and wives who are crying for much worse reasons than pretending not to know your husband is a racist, sexist, homophobic fascist. Things like dead soldier children and husbands, things like dead children in Iraq, things like the dead and wounded and homeless separated families from all different kinds of disasters especially the ones right here at home that occured while Bush** did his vacation thingy. Do you think they really want to go there? We can not only meet their Martha ads but we can make them look as foolish and selfish as they are.

13. yes, if we would only DO that
Instead, the "rebuttal" will be a lily-livered cardboard cut out -- a Donna Brazille, or a Joe Leiberman -- who will agree that yes, the Dems were awful to fulfill their duty and should apologize to Mrs. Facist.

6. It wasn't that long ago that Clinton thumped HW Bush and Dole
and the media wasn't that great then either.
Come on folks! We can win elections, look at VA, NJ and CA 05. It's won't be easy, but we can win in 06 and 08 too.

14. I am sick of the media. Why can't we shut these bas--rds down?
We need to find out who the sponsors are and notify them that we are no longer supporting any co. which does not insist on an end to the current no-news product. Then we must do it. There are lots of us. It can make a big difference. I am going to begin tonight. Please join me. I refuse to watch any of them, so time to time please let us all know who the sponsors are. I will call CBS tonight. Who was sponsored them?

17. Yes
I think this is the only way. Isn't how they stay in business because of ads? So show their sponsers you're not going to buy their products because they cater to fascism.

23. Shut them DOWN or put them UP against the wall...
either is fine with me.
The corporate media is a fascist enemy of the people. They have been instrumental in protecting the criminals who control this country. They are rewarded handsomely for doing so.
