AT&T request to have whistleblower documents returned....REJECTED!
http://cbs5.com/topstories/local_story_137143948.html

(AP / BCN) SAN FRANCISCO Secret documents that allegedly detail the surveillance of AT&T phone lines under the Bush administration's domestic spying program can be used in a lawsuit against the telephone giant, a federal judge ruled Wednesday, but the records will remain sealed.

U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker rejected a bid by AT&T Inc. to return the records that were given to the privacy advocate Electronic Frontier Foundation by a former AT&T technician. But Walker said the records would remain under seal until it can be determined whether they reveal trade secrets.

"The best course of action is to preserve the status quo," Walker said.

How long until Judge Walker gets removed from the case?

8. Remember, the privacy of a corporation is called a "trade secret"
... but the privacy of a human being is called "questionable" or "for sale." This is the Fascist Republik of Amerika - entitlements of property (a legal fiction called a corporation) trump human rights.

while "Americans should watch what they say."

EDIT: and now we know why Ari F. said that: they were listening in all along.

12. Been boycotting ATT for years now.
Their "fuck the consumer" approach to running their company has taken me off their dance card permanently. Their attitude was that they were so big that they didn't need to cater to their paying customers.

They got smaller over the last few years and I hope they shrink more.

14. It's quite a RW company on the inside as well...
I hated working for them - the culture was straight out of the 1950's - RW to the core.

13. AT&T is a very RW company - I worked there
I hated that company with a passion.

The culture in that company is so right-wing. I did not know any better at the time, but I would never work for a company that had such a RW bias again - they even tried to get us to give money to their RW PAC when those were popular :(

I will not do business with them again.
