Snow dismisses reports he leaving

May 17, 11:12 AM (ET)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow dismissed on Wednesday recurring reports of his expected departure as "a lot of fiction" and said they had not undermined his credibility.

"I think we've seen a lot of fiction here and it doesn't do any good for me to comment on rumors and speculation," Snow said in response to a question from Rep. Barney Frank, a Massachusetts Democrat, during a hearing in the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee.

This guy is unbelievable. Now they are wearing their plants on the outside. No pretend, no effort to hide how unscrupulous they are.

I'm beginning to think that somehow, we Americans NEED Bush to be the idiot he is. I did not think we could last this long with a total incompetent at the helm, but low and behold, here we go, off into the wild blue yonder. Day after agonizing day. And no one does anything. What would we talk about if he wasn't the joke of the day? Could we get so excited about saving our planet and allowing freedom and peace to break out all over the world? I for one am willing to try.

Frustrated. Don't see an end to this. It continues to escalate and when we think it has reached tipping point, it just continues to tip and brings in a new bozo aka Tony to keep the snow, erm, show going.

:freak:

edit: oops. Missed the name. Rant stands.

6. What to believe, what to believe...

"I'm not leaving" can mean sooo many things. Some examples:

"I'm not leaving until my successor is chosen."
OR
"I'm not leaving until we can do this in a way that might boost the GOP's sagging poll numbers. The President's poll numbers? Forget Bush. He's a lost cause."
OR
"I'm not leaving until something REALLY big goes down so that the scandal of my 'resignation' will be lost in the bigger shuffle."
OR
"I'm not leaving until I get offered something much better."
OR
"I'm not leaving and you can't do a DAMN thing about it.
I know where the bodies are buried, AND who buried 'em.
OR
"I'm getting outta here so fast I'm gonna leave my shadow standing wondering 'WTF'?"

10. yes, apparently they have asked several people
they really want a wall street type, but no ambitious CEO is willing to derail their career for such a crappy job. Think about it, no input into policy, you go from being a $25 million/year king of the world to a punk-ass mouthpiece who doesn't even get invited on news shows, since everyone knows he's useless.
