"this close" to breaking wide... Just one more msm source (knight ridder) away from being all over the place. This is how Leopold is describing the situation.

1. Plus it sounded to me like they tried to jam his phone
Big Ed said that the problem was with Leopold's line, not their studio, sounded like a high
pitched squeal! Big Ed had his tech call back on another line.

16. Fortunately, Big Ed was able to use another line
Some of the low budget shows would have had to do a "call back" or lose the interview completely.

6. Of course, no phone call has ever been dropped before.
Especially on a radio show. :sarcasm: :tinfoilhat:

15. Look, I am telling you something odd as a Sirius listener
Edited on Tue May-16-06 05:32 PM by MissWaverly
I listen to commercials for hair growth, perfect, no problems, then there is a segment on
Dick Cheney constant static, then we go back to the pundit and then everything is a okay.
I have never had trouble hearing about buying gold, vitamin supplements or make a fortune
in real estate but I have had this experience listening to segments on Cheney numerous
times. Remember than Hansen was not allowed to talk to NPR, that "lefty radio" on global
warming but he was interviewed on "60 minutes."

Hansen is arguably the world's leading researcher on global warming. He's the head of NASA's top institute studying the climate. But this imminent scientist tells correspondent Scott Pelley that the Bush administration is restricting who he can talk to and editing what he can say. Politicians, he says, are rewriting the science.
"I object to the fact that I’m not able to freely communicate via the media," says Hansen. "National Public Radio wanted to interview me and they were told they would need to interview someone at NASA headquarters and the comment was made that they didn’t want Jim Hansen going on the most liberal media in America. So I don’t think that kind of decision should be made on that kind of basis. I think we should be able to communicate the science."

3. i listened to the interview and i really, really hope that his story is
correct, i don't know that much about him but i imagine if it's all bullshit then he knows he'd be all done so he's either correct and was willing to take the risk or he got punk'd by someone and his career is all over.

10. For those of you who didn't listen to the interview, Jason
stuck to his story, but gave little or no evidence to back it up.

He said he had some information to show that Fitz was in DC in the time in question, and that he was going to check up on the sick cat story, but he didn't do much else to bolster his case.

I don't know what to make of it. It was kind of weird, and did not come off as having anything to do with the concept of journalism.

Most of them having to do with court procedures and schedules.

18. After listening there's only 2 ways this will go
#1 it was all a big setup

#2 it's real

I say that becuase I can't see why any journalist would want to ruin their reputation by making all this up.

20. Ed did a terrible job
of letting him speak. Jason had so much to say and Ed babbles on about the blogs.

Why the hell didn't he shut up and let Jason give the details? Jason had an email from someone he was about to start to read that would have apparently laid out all the details about the meeting at Luskin's office, and Schultz says no he doesn't need to hear that.

We could have learned ten times more than we did if he would have just let Jason carry the conversation.

Damn these interviewers that can't shut up. :argh:
