Now, it's time to investigate Coulter, Limpie, Savage, O'Liely et. al. for their very specific threats and inciteful remarks.

Police Arrest DJ After Radio Rants

By TOM HAYS, Associated Press Writer
Fri May 12, 6:13 PM

NEW YORK - A syndicated hip-hop disc jockey was arrested Friday on charges of harassment and endangering the welfare of a child amid an uproar over his on-air racial and sexual rants about a radio rival's wife and 4-year-old daughter.

>snip

Police officials had launched a hate crime investigation of DJ Star on Thursday after reviewing a transcript of his recent remarks about DJ Envy and his family.

>snip

In the comments, made between May 3 and Monday, Torain _ co-host of the "Star & Buc Wild Morning Show" _ offered $500 to any listener who could provide information about the rival DJ's daughter's school and used racial slurs when talking about his rival's wife, Gia Casey, who is part Asian.

>snip

Casey's attorney, Ken Thompson, applauded Torain's arrest, claiming "what he did was a hate crime." He also said his client would "pursue all legal channels" to hold Clear Channel Radio accountable as well.

Here's a nice little HuffPost summary of Coulter's recent "jokes" about killing certain individuals or inciting crimes against particular groups.

1. I caught some coverage of this on local news here in NYC
Edited on Sat May-13-06 10:03 AM by Drum
It looks like the mechanism was the same old gangsta braggadocio...Star just pooped out with his material, and had to seek the refuge of the dumb&mean: racial attacks, personal threats. He was waaay outta line, from what the news showed of his remarks.
By just coming to that point, "Star" played himself.... Dumb f*&k overplayed his cards, and now he'll pay.

Would that some of the other hateful radio personalities (are U listening, OxyRush?) would likewise be caught in their own nets....

2. My thinking exactly. Coulter couched her "poison Justice Stevens" remark
as a "joke", thinking that somehow excuses her from making this threat specific remark.

Not to mention,O'Liely's remark that Al Queda should bomb San Francisco...imagine if KO said something similar about any of the red states.

It's time to hold these people accountable for using the airwaves to illegally incite violence against people with whom they disagree. MKJ

3. Are you kidding? O'Liely has already compared Olbermann to this guy.
Went off on a rant the other day on the radio, from what I hear. Unfortunately you have to go to the Web site of O'Liely's handmaiden, Johnny Dollar, to hear this little gem:

http://homepage.mac.com/mkoldys/iblog/C168863457/E20060511123726/

He essentially compares Al Franken (by name) and Keith Olbermann (He Who Shall Not by O'Liely Be Named) to the DJ who advocated attacking another jock's wife and child. Says there is no difference between the two at all.

He also says that "nobody" bought Franken's book, and gives credit for that to "you" (his audience). Funny, when I compare the sales for Franken's latest book to the sales of Bill-O's on Amazon, that's not what I see.

Anyway, there's a lot of good nonsense in here, if you care to pollute your brain with it.

4. Well, of course, if I'd thought about it, this fits right in with their
typical M.O.

If someone gets caught and chastised, or worse, for doing what you routinely do, then lump said caught person in with your opposition and accuse them all of doing what you routinely do.
