Did you spot the hole in Bush's phone spying statement?
Parse out what he said in the sound byte played over and over on this morning's news:

I'd like to get the exact text of that statement. It was to the effect of we are not spying on millions and millions of Americans with this

I listened several times and am kicking myself because I didn't record it. What he is saying is absolutely true. Millions and millions of Americans are not being spied on.

Question for Bushie:

"You have given us the subset who have not been selected. What is the number of Americans in the subset that IS being spied on?"

2. Two major holes.
1. Admitting that it took place.

2. Defending it.

4. Here's a link to the transcript. from CNN
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/05/11/bush.transcript/

This looks like the exact part you're seeking:

"Fourth, the privacy of ordinary Americans is fiercely protected in all our activities. We're not mining or trolling through the personal lives of millions of innocent Americans."

That's my bet.

7. "See, in my line of work
you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda."

Yes, George we know you're lying to us as usual.

8. Don't forget his little
"heh, heh, heh" at the end of that. It's never complete without that nasty snicker.

If he were Pinocchio, his nose would encircle the globe by now.

10. Why when * speaks to reassure the people...we are not reassured?
Edited on Fri May-12-06 03:15 PM by DearAbby
It just that I have more questions...

"Fourth, the privacy of ordinary Americans is fiercely protected in all our activities. We're not mining or trolling through the personal lives of millions of innocent Americans."

Does this mean, that there are tens of million of not so innocent Americans? Certainly we do not have tens of millions of potential terrorists within our country do we?

Why without WARRANTS? <<< key question here, if this was a justified program, why did they avoid the procedure and law?

11. He's got the mirror image hole and the repeat-a-lie hole
mirror image: We're spying on millions of Americans (on the one hand) but we're not spying on millions of Americans (like Granny Jones in the retirement home for Alzheimers or a few million others we've decided are harmless.)

Repeat a lie "the privacy of ordinary Americans is fiercely protected" -- say the opposite.

And within that another parse: the privacy of ORDINARY Americans.

All them others that might in our wettest dream be imagined to be a turrrist are not ordinary.
