Why am I required to live in a world of freepers?
I think I have had enough! I need some peaceful place to exist with my beliefs that all people are created equal, and that wiretapping them is illegal! Instead I am required to have a freeper family who is in the 31 % of * supporters! *sigh*

I will never understand how someone can think they are more superior then anyone else. Who cares if you are a different race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, etc. We are all made up of cells, we all bleed the same color and breath the same air.

The hatred that is allowed to spew out of people towards others is frightening and disheartening to me.

2. I'm so sorry...
it sounds like a terrible burden. It is not fair when your own home, your sanctuary, has to be polluted with people who refuse to think. It's hard to love these people anyway. Hang in there!

3. Thanks!
It is just been a hard day of listening to freepers support the illegal wiretapping. Of course, they tell me that it is not them being tapped so why should they worry.

People really are just ignorant and sheep like...

4. Why did Winston Smith have to live in Oceania?
Sometimes you have no choice.

Sometimes things change around you and you have no chance to get away.

5. The polls say your frustration is justified, and that help is on the way.
I say November is going to be on the BLUE side. if you can throw in and help volunteer for a local Congressional campaign, they would really appreciate it and it would contribute to the blue wave we need for November.

Plus, you'd meet some excellent fellow Democrats, and that would help assuage the horror of living under a vacuous monkey like Bush.

Look farther down the road... the horizon's blue.

6. A freeper will just follow you to that peaceful place...
and start eavesdropping on what you say. I feel sorry for your lost freeper family. Hopefully they will one day see the truth.

7. Time is on your side.
Just wait. Americans are really revisionists - in a few more months that entire 31% will swear they voted for Kerry (slightly exagerated).

8. Oh, man, I'm with you, my friend!
It really is disheartening, and I'll never understand that type of pseudo-moral superiority or judgmental behavior. I'm in a similar situation, but it's at work. I feel for you, having to listen to it in the one place that should be your sanctuary. :pals: Hang in there...we'll get past this!

11. I'm unsure about one of your sentences:
"I will never understand how someone can think they are more superior then anyone else."

I consider liberalism far more superior than conservatism. Thus I believe that those who practice liberalism are superior to those who practice conservatism. Am I wrong?

18. I meant on a person by person basis
My family has always said that they are white, middle class so they are "better" then the "others." (Their words not mine.) I don't believe anyone is better then anyone else, they are just misguided!

The beauty is I get to spend $180 round trip on gas next weekend to drive home and spend some "quality" time with them. *sigh*

That is probably the reason for my doom and gloom mood.

But on a brighter note, I am about to close on my first home, and I have my DU family to help me laugh!

Love you all....

13. One quick question for you to ponder...
...I will never understand how someone can think they are more superior then anyone else....

Do you believe your enlightened point of view makes you superior to your freeper family members?

14. Dood!
Every dog has its day and we're indeed living through "The Days of the Freeper". Try laughing at them instead of letting them get you down so much. It's good mojo - and certainly easy enough, right?

So take heart amigo. The Freeper liberation movement will run its course and we will prevail. :-)

(Hey! Try having a millionaire sibling who works directly with Pat Robertson! Talk about fun around the dinner table!)

15. For the same reason you required to live with
speeders, law breakers, child molesters, born agains, or anyone else who does not share your world view.

It's called tolerance, something we seem to be missing from the world these days.

16. If it's any consolation
My two "previously Freeper" brothers in Ohio have finally seen the light. They were two guys that grew up in a proud Union Democratic household, but unfortunately had jobs that required them to spend a lot of time in their cars during the hours of 12-3 (If you know what I mean).

They started turning when Limpballs started working on his 3RD divorce and was found to be buying drugs out of the trunk of cars at Deney's.

Fortunately, I...the "liberal one", am in the military and didn't have to spend too much time around them while their minds were being filled with the giberish of hate radio and Faux News. Everytime I did make it home, I was subjected to the latest Rush talking point argument.

Thank God they are beginning to get their sanity and moral compass back. My story is to let you know that there is hope. Some Freepers are beyond hope, but some have just been sold a "bill of goods" in an entertaining, 3 hour a day, 5 days week brain-numbing re-education program.

There's hope for this country...there really is!!

I've seen dozens of B/C and W stickers and yellow ribbons on the road this week.
