"This is much bigger and wider than just Randy 'Duke' Cunningham"
Cunningham said to be uncooperative

By: MARK WALKER - Staff Writer

Randy Cunningham has not been helping federal authorities as they continue to probe the former North County congressman's web of corruption, a top Pentagon investigator said Tuesday.

Rick Gwin, special agent in charge of the Defense Criminal Investigative Service's western regional office, said he is troubled by the lack of assistance, particularly in light of Cunningham's plea agreement that calls for him to tell all that he knows.

"In my opinion, he has not been cooperative and I have not gotten any information from him to further develop other targets," Gwin said in a telephone interview from his office in Mission Viejo. "I was hoping that from a jail cell, he might become more cooperative, but we just don't have the cooperation that I think we should have."

...................

"This is much bigger and wider than just Randy 'Duke' Cunningham," he said. "All that has just not come out yet, but it won't be much longer and then you will know just how widespread this is."

2. Can't Duke's jail sentence be lengthened if he doesn't cooperate?
Isn't that part of the deal?
Oooh, rubbing hands in anticipation!

3. Hard to lengthen a sentence beyond death.
Cunningham's health is not good.

6. So much for his crying, remorseful routine; I'm so gullible, I fell
for it. x(

11. I didn't.
But then, I'm a forensic psychologist & have logged something like 2,000 psych evals of criminals. The Dukester is pretty much a high-functioning version of one of the classic criminal types, who generally put on big shows of remorse when they're caught, but the remorse only lasts for as long as it's useful to them.

5. Wonder if someone paid him a visit and told him to 'clam up, or else'?
Do we know if Bolton paid him any visits, like he did with Judy? Any poetry about trees? :7

8. Any reason they'd like to create a false sense of security in a few target
right now? Seems like an odd statement to make in an interview unless you wanted that information out there - the standard "can't get into details about an ongoing investigation" would have worked really well with "This is much bigger and wider than just Randy 'Duke' Cunningham,"

9. If Cunningham isn't cooperating,
he's voided his plea agreement, hasn't he? Can't they take him before a judge and get his sentence extended?

10. Pretty soon, the Repukes will outnumber the Crips and Bloods and Aryan...
Nation behind bars. They'll be cutting wages from $12 a month to $6 a month, jacking up the price of candy bars in the canteen, and "privatizing" the pay phones so that calls cost $35 a pop.

16. I agree...torture him!
It works so well at Abu Ghraib, GitMo, and places unknown to us. I say apply to him what was applied to the average Iraqi citizen caught up in house raids and see what comes of it.

It's not like he can claim that torture is inhuman, illegal and immoral; his pals in the White House has already settled that argument.

17. The threat of solitary confinement for the rest of his life
might be enough.

Actually I wouldn't want anyone sent to Gitmo.

I think someone got to Cunningham.
