From the page:

----
The Center for Public Integrity has obtained more than 900 pages of emails from Michael Brown's account in the days leading up to Katrina -- emails which have not been made public up to this point, RAW STORY can report.

Based on the new emails, the Center will allege that "While many coastal residents were awaiting rescue from rooftops or wading through toxic flood waters, it was business as usual in the world of money, power and government inside the Washington beltway."

snip

The emails once again cast unfavorable light on Michael Brown, then head of FEMA.

4. A Little More from Raw
<snip>

The emails once again cast unfavorable light on Michael Brown, then head of FEMA.

“I'm at HQ but down in the studio most of the rest of the a.m.... Here we go!” Brown wrote the Saturday before the storm arrived as he prepared for a round of TV and radio interviews. At 6:21 a.m the Monday Katrina hit, Brown was preparing for another major round of interviews.

“Sitting in the chair, putting mousse in my hair...." he wrote to Patrick Rhode, FEMA’s chief of staff.

And, on the day Katrina slammed into New Orleans, a former U.S. senator who had become a registered lobbyist, was trying to get Brown to schedule a meeting to complain about a no-bid contract that was heading to his client’s competitor.

I remember Brown was all over the TV that week - guess he was more concerned with his TV appearances instead of doing his friggin' job!

Subject: YOUR URGENT ASSISTANCE! IMMEDIATE ATTENTION NEEDED: HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL

Sir,

I am Michael Brown, Director of The Federal Emergency Management Association, known as FEMA.

A few weeks ago we decided and made away with large quantity of bottled water and emergency rations weighing 898kg, along with 1,000 air conditioned buses, 4,000 mobile homes, and a FEMA suit which will make you want to puke. I am a fashion god. These materials have been saved and deposited in a high security company before boarding for Tom DeLay's forced-abortion sweatshop paradise in the Mariana Islands, where we have decided to stay temporarily and decide on what to do with those great resources which is our hope of life.

We got your contact from the Internets and decided to contact you as an honest and trustworthy able businessman whom we can trust and transact business with.

As a trusted and honest businessman like you, we would like you to secure our great resources in your care pending our arrival to you country as we have decided to order a command to the security Company to transfer our resources to you depending on your urgent reply to our request.

Note that this transaction demands the highest trust, security and confidentiality between us.

Moreover it is risk free in the sense that I have taken proper care of all formalities regarding this transaction. For your assistance and co-operation I have decided to give you 15% of the total money generated from it's sales and 5% mapped out for any miscellaneous expenses that we may occur during the process of transferring the resource to your country.

As soon as the resources mentioned above is successfully transferred in to your position . We intend to use our own share to acquire estates and landed properties in your country-- preferably someplace well above sea level.

On commencement, I wish this transaction will take 14 working days to accomplish. On request a certificate of deposit bond of the security company, together with the lab test result certificate of the bottled water and emergency rations will be sent to you through your sea ports which are 95% un-inspected. Feel free to contact me through my Blackberry.

For my own interest please treat confidential. Thanks.

For Great Justice,

FEMA Director Michael Brown

7. Criminal Negligence. Brown should be charged.
They all should, but why not start somewhere. Criminal Negligence, send these fuckers to jail. They do not belong in our society. Brown should rot in a jail for the rest of his life because of his misdeeds and failures. It's high time to see someone severely punished for the Katrina relief disaster.
