New U.S. Foreign Policy for Palestine; Starvation
By Mike Whitney

05/08/06 "ICH" -- -- The United States and Israel have finally agreed on a plan to resolve the decades-long Israel-Palestine conflict. Israel will continue lobbing missiles into civilian areas of Gaza and the West Bank while the US cuts off food and other vital aid to the territories. That way they can maximize the human suffering while preparing the people for a violent death.

This is not what Palestinians bargained for when they accepted the western-model of democracy.

The Road Map has become a cul de sac of aggression, subjugation and outright murder.

I wonder how many Palestinians would have stayed home if they knew how they’d be treated for voting for the party of their choice?

Presently, Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza are experiencing what United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) John Ging calls, “the countdown to a humanitarian crisis”. In a wanton act of collective punishment, Palestinians are being deprived of food, money and access to the outside world. As Jimmy Carter says in his article, “Punishing the Innocent is a Crime” “Overwhelmingly (the victims) are school teachers, nurses, social workers, police officers, farm families, who are just hoping for a better life”.

1. Yet another brilliant move by the geniuses in power.
Starving and killing people is such a nifty way of resolving conflicts. Not to mention walling them off and destroying their homes.

I knew Bush** heralded the second Dark Ages. I just didn't think he'd take it so literally.

4. When will the US be held accountable for
the international attrocities we're committing?

I want my country to be a civilized country. I want my country to be a good global citizen. I want my country to act ethically in our foreign policy (and in all of our policies).

Is this too much to ask?
:grr:

5. Isn't the US just cutting back on financial support ie aid
Just like by refusing to feed every one in Africa by sending money we are killing Africans?

6. Oh, using a false analogy to divert discussion to US aid to Africa?
Edited on Tue May-09-06 12:34 PM by Poll_Blind
Hey, why don't you stick to the topic instead of making false analogies with other countries?

8. can i say-genocide -now?
it`s pretty clear the powerfull never want he palestinians ever to gain a democratic state. there is no defense of the plan to withhold food and medicine to the innocents unless one believes they should not exist.

14. Why? Because they are not reporting all the good news out of the ME?
Or is it because they are not bought and paid for by a handful of corporations that want to shove all the versions of their important issues and distractions down everyones throats?

Or I can just post links from "the missing blond of the day" websites if you prefer.

17. When Bush says he wants to promote democracy, he really means
he wants to prompte the freedom of bid corporations to plunder, pillage, rape and destroy everything for their own profit.
