Did we see Mrs. McCain's tears after S.C.? Teresa's re. Swiftboating???
Sorry for a separate thread, but I'm so sick and tired of these people and their double standard I could puke! How many more examples can you give of people on our side savaged by Bush/Rove savagery? But that's always okay. That's always smart politics, or "brilliance," or sins committed on the part of Democrats. If this woman can't deal with a hearing involving an opposition party -- if she wants a one-party fascist state like those on that side seem to want -- then stay away from the god**amn hearing!!!

If Rove didn't orchestrate this crap, it's because he somehow failed to come up with the idea.

12. She was crying?

There's no crying in politics....okay maybe there is. I know I'll cry if Alito gets the nod.

Sorry, no sympathy for her....I've seen too many smirks from her these last 3 days.

Cheers!

17. Okay
I don't have a problem with the woman crying. It is very intense and she didn't ask for it. But what I do have a problem with is the MSM turning it around in such a way it makes it seem Alito was brutally savaged by the committee.

Nothing wrong with crying...was it Boxer or Pelosi who cried when 2004 was finalized? I cried too.

23. Ollie North, redux - Americans just LOVE Moist Television Moments
After all, what better than great steaming gouts of emotion that allow us to abandon all thought and context, and revel in the simmering thrills of the moist-eyed Marine Colonel, the surviving spouse or the weepy political wife.

The only people who love such moments more are the Telewhores who get to dress them up as news and run them in non-stop loops until all rational thought is banished from our national Kabuki performance.

33. I doubt if Valerie Wilson cried
But imagine how she felt when her career was ended by Rove?

Imagine all the tears shed by the mothers of soldiers, and the families of the Iraqis who have been killed in Bush's war?

And we're supposed to feel sorry for this woman?

Perhaps she should swim for a while in the river of tears created by BushCo.

34. It's really burning my ass, though.
Why? Because this shit is IMPORTANT!! Supreme Court Justices are important! It MATTERS who they are. It will affect EVERYONE. I feel sometimes like I have to grab my coworkers by the neck and shake them to make them understand the IMPORTANCE, but nobody gets it.

I'll bet you anything that everyone will be talking about Mrs. Blubbers tomorrow, though. See, THAT'S something they can UNDERSTAND. It's a SOAP OPERA. It's a TV REALITY SHOW about NOTHING. It's SIMPLE and RELATIVELY ENTERTAINING. Look, the meanie politicans MADE THAT NICE WOMAN CRY. That's something the people I know can wrap their brains around.

You're spot-on about Rove. Nice play, Karl. I'm actually quite impressed.

Sorry, Martha-Ann Bomgardner Alito ... it's not about you ... it's about our Nation, our Founding Principles, our citizens, and future ... just knowing that this nomination, as have all the federal court nominations since 2001, has been made, not by the will of the people, but through usurped power makes it all the more vital ... this is the whole enchilada ...

my message to my senators: NO MORE life-time appointments for this fraudulent, corrupt, treasonous, untrustworthy, etc., administration ... period

They were so mean to Mrs. McCain and she could've easily cried but I never heard about her doing so in public. She probably did privatley I'm sure (I know I would have) but not public I've never heard/read. I saw an interview briefly with her and she was asked about all the smearing on her and she didn't sniffle or anything like that. She was actually pretty brave. Same with Teresa.
