oppo research articles online - boost their search engine rankings
Edited on Sun Oct-22-06 07:42 PM by greeneyedboy
inspired by the "google-bombing the election" idea Chris Bowers posted at http://www.mydd.com/story/2006/10/22/133240/91#30 .

Bowers has a list of seventy vulnerable Republican candidates, and is now finding the single most damning nonpartisan article on those candidates and paying out of his own pocket to use Google's AdWords to boost the search position of those articles before the election. the theory is that since the most common politics-related reason to use the 'net is for candidate research, why not make sure that the plain truth about these people is easily accessible.

it seems to me that we could extend this kind of effort beyond this list of 70 candidates, and beyond AdWords to simple links or blog posts or other levers that can affect search engine rankings.

not sure the best way to do it, but maybe one centralized Oppo Research list (and a corresponding Supportive Research list) for each house of congress, and then the '08 elections?

just an idea.
