Formula 1 is BACK! Woo hoo!
:bounce:

And the Bahrain race is at a much less murderous time than last year -- 8:30 am instead of 7 am.

3. Geez, what else is new?
The McLaren is again a POS. An extremely fast POS, but a POS nonetheless.

2. Speed brings America in from the cold (An American in F1 again)
When your name is Speed, you are perhaps destined to become a racer. Becoming a Formula One driver is the ultimate fulfilment of that destiny. After 13 years without a US driver on the grid, the expectation’s of the world’s most car-obsessed nation rest on Scott Speed’s shoulders. Some may buckle under the burden, but the Californian seems laidback, focussed only on his performance on the track. We caught up with him in the Bahrain paddock.

6. Good race! **SPOILERS**
That last pit stop for "Fred" Alonso was crucial. It couldn't have been much closer at pit out. I'm so glad he beat Michael.

I love the new look of the McClarens and Kimi did some kickass passing.

I think it's going to be a great season! Is it Michael's last?

7. My take on the new season & Bahrain race **spoilers**
Edited on Wed Mar-15-06 10:31 AM by Coventina
1. I like the new qualifying format.

2. It seems like there are a number of (possibly) good teams. It made for an exciting practice, qualifying and race.

3. Kimi is the best driver out there. Too bad the lovely yet fickle Mclaren keeps letting him down.

4. I have grown to really hate Alonzo. He's become so arrogant. He just expects people to move aside and give him clear track at all times. :eyes:

5. As a result of my Alonzo dislike, I found myself rooting for Schumi. Something I thought would NEVER happen! I suppose I feel that Michael suffered enough last season.

6. Bob Varsha is still an idiot.

7. I miss Minardi. Who do I root for now? Super Aguri? It may take a few races before I find a new underdog to pull for.

8. Because I don't have cable (and therefore Speed TV) I have to watch the coverage at least on a day's delay (from videotape). That is why my posts are always going to be somewhat late.

9. My comments are always going to be from my point of view. YMMV, and probably will.

10. It sure was good to see those cars roll back on the track! I'm the most improbable F1 fan ever, but I just love it! I hope the US Grand Prix comes to Las Vegas!!!!! :woohoo:

8. Okay...
1) Me too
2) I agree
3) Kimi has some of the worst luck of any F-1 driver I can remember
4) I love Alonso, he has very big "attachments"
5) I could never, EVER root for Nuttmacher. I he is, and always has been, a dirty, heating, chopping, pointy-chinned bastard
6) I disagree completely
7) Toro Rosso (the re-birth of Minardi) look to be pretty stout, especially with the de-tuned V10's
8) Time to get cable installed?
9) As are mine
10) Vegas would be waste IMHO. They tried that before in the Caesar's Palace parking lot and it was awful. A better bet would be at a real track, like Road America....Can you imagine the sound of F-! cars in the Hurry Downs?!!!

10. LOL....but not a chance on the cable, at least for now.
I'm trying to finish up my Master's degree, and I don't need any more distractions!!

I'm pulling for a Vegas F1 race because that would allow me to go with a minimal effort on my part, since I live in that region of the country. But you are right, there are other courses that would be much better race-wise.
