That's about 68 miles away from Smyrna, TN the future site of Nissan's US factory to build the Nissan Leaf.
For the first few years, the Nissan Leaf will be built in Japan. But Nissan has been granted $1.6 billion of low-interest loans by the U.S. Department of Energy to create a manufacturing facility for lithium-ion cells and retool its Smyrna, Tennessee, assembly plant for assembly of up to 150,000 Leafs a year.
http://www.greencarreports.com/blog/1037616_nissan-anno... Some lucky few are going to be living right between those two locations. Perhaps they can work in the factory making solar panels that will make the power for their Nissan Leaf. Or they can apply at the Smyrna factory making the Leafs. The 100 mile range of the Leaf would not be perfect for all Americans -- only about 90% of them.
Just a thought...
