2. No I mean the game itself.
The bad call at the end ruined the result, but the game itself I mean... the BBC live text guy Jonathan called it the best game of the tournament so far, an absolute crackerjack.

I'm soooo proud of our team. :)

3. There was definite excitement, I will grant you that!
And a shedload of tension.

4. And I was sleeping
but the officiating, from the cuts I've seen, was also not the best either. There will be, or should be, controversy over that offside call.

5. I expect there already is...
from BBC Radio's David Moyes:

"I've just seen that disallowed goal for the US again - and not only was there no foul by a US player, there are probably two penalty-kick offences being committed by the Slovenian defenders. Shocking decision."

6. Ah nothing like good ol' fashioned world cup controversy
I don't think they will get as bad as the ref that lost his officiating rights after a Mexican Cup Final, where it was LIKE BLATANT... to the point they looked for betting and other ahem illegal activities, but hey...

7. What is with these refs?
I watched the Kiwis play Italy last night, and the only way that Italy was able to score was through a very suspect penalty awarded them when the ball was about six feet from the goal. Every time the Kiwis touched them, the Italians fell to the ground, writhing in pain. We saw all that last time - ho hum.

And Australia suffered from two completely undeserved red card decisions - okay, against Germany it wasn't going to make a difference in the end, but against Ghana - yes, it did, reducing Australia to ten men in a vital match.

But either the refs are intimidated by the top teams, or else there really is a plot to keep any team not from Europe or South America out of the game.
