but I am so damned tired of MRAs hijacking threads.

Imagine if a thread about the negative effects of racism on the black community were peppered with comments from people talking about 'reverse racism' and how 'whites have it bad too, really!'

Is it just me or would that kind of comment be jumped all over? But for some reason the MRAs get to act out without being called on it.

Am I off base with the analogy? Cause that sure is how it comes across to me.

1. No, you are not off base, I agree completely
Also like how every thread about FGM is hijacked by men equating it with a bris.

It's so deeply embedded in the culture. I don't think it will go away in our lifetime.

3. good example...
...those threads make my head spin. the fact they attempt to equate such a thing confuses the hell out of me. :banghead:

5. i'm guessing...

...you also didn't bother reading my comments in the thread. :eyes: not that the thread in or of itself, is the topic of this discussion.

*this* discussion is about mra's hijacking women's topic threads, which is the ONLY reason i linked it. (for the mra example). not to be attacked (yet again) by comments presuming that speaking out against the officer's behavior equates to dismissal of responsibility on the part of the young woman. fyi-two separate issues entirely. or to be reminded of the fuckin' law, and the perps responsibility...as if i've managed to survive all my years on this planet, in this skin and this gender, with no tickets, warrants, warnings or arrests w/out some knowledge of the law, law enforcement, etc.

:wtf:

gee and thanks ever so, for echoing the discussion, stance and attitudes i already had my fill of in the thread linked. :eyes:and thanks especially for reminding of exactly why i was pissed off and spent far too long arguing on this board. :grr::mad: i especially appreciate that.

not even remotely sure why the hell you felt the need to bring that up here...considering it's the feminism forum (the whole woman's perspective on issues, etc....ring a bell?)

:eyes:

7. lol, firstly you say mra (males right activist?), that was a woman.
so pointing out post 97 for an mra doesnt make sense. secondly, you said post #97 so i read post #97 and commented on that. and third

really, i an state my own opinion to a post you put up, lol. am i suppose to not say anything, if i dont necessarily agree with you on something. can we not discuss differing views. i do believe in women/girl ownership of individual behavior. i do believe we have to have a responsibility as a gender, as a whole, in order to be heard. i do believe we have to be honest and fair in our approach.

...it was a woman. :eyes: as if i didn't know who i was talking with. lemme guess. you've never heard of female men's right's activists, right (or women misogynists)? :eyes: if you haven't heard of this phenomena, maybe you should look into it.

i disagree w/people here, and others w/me frequently. i don't always express it, as sometimes (out of courtesy and respect) i feel the need to reflect on what was said, and gauge my own understanding of the issues, etc. i also get that most come here (as i do) for a reprieve from the antagonism and idiotic arguments that exist in the main forums.

i attempted to confine my comment to what you said that i found offensive. i found your comments to me rude, dismissive and presumptive. your comment seems to imply i misunderstand personal responsibility, the law, etc.

my anger w/the officer's acts is a separate issue.

it's infuriating because you sound like every other person i talked w/in that thread. you effectively proved the point of the op in one fail swoop. way to go. :eyes:

i've had enough. outta' here. later.

13. I thought
the FRMAs were simply 'tools of the patriarchy.'

Lots of tools around here...I ignore them. Life is easier.

But I admit those tools love their widdle princes and will defend them like a momma tiger defends her baby cubbies. Rather pathetic, but they think they get some kind of 'power' out of it. They're afraid to go head-to-head up against the boyz so putting down a strong woman is their next best option. The tools get to feel some sort of weird 'protection' as well. Very weird.

Let's just call it the 'tool syndrome.' OK?

They're so obvious. Ignore them...they don't know any better. They can't help themselves. Sad, but ever so True.

:hi::hug:...i appreciate your words and good advice. you're right, probably best to ignore them....like the gnats they are. i really like that term, too--"tool syndrome." :spray:

very nice. quite accurate, too.
on edit, they really don't get how they're used in the grand scheme of things, do they?
(sigh)

20. merely for the purpose of clarification...
Edited on Mon Jun-21-10 05:35 PM by bliss_eternal
...i would think it was obvious that femrap and i were discussing fmra's (the topic of the op). as such, the content originally linked in the post, (that i requested to be deleted) was who and what we were referring to as gnats, tools, etc. we were not referring to anyone presently posting w/in this thread. i said what i felt i needed to directly, and would not suddenly start discussing others here in a indirect, rude, snarky way.

i may be many things, but passive-aggressive is not one of them.

hope this clears things up.

...confused, irritated and angered by the fact that you would say this to me, in this forum of all places. i'm outta here. i've had beyond my fill of this attitude and these kind of comments.

a little reminder for you:

...sorry try again.

later for you, and this. it's blatant bullshit and i've had more than my fill. part of the problem is the fact you don't get why i'm so angry. now it all makes sense. you just don't fuckin' get it. any of it. at. all.

sincerely sorry to be so abrupt. but frankly i'm furious and not in the slightest mood to make nice, or be polite. apologies to the other forum members. i'll leave so as not to create havoc and negativity for others.

much later.

Anyway, MRA's are freaky weird and are probably happiest behind a keyboard, where confrontation is easy.

24. I'm cautiously hopeful about the new rules
Because they mention name-calling and even some specific words that we are sensitive to, as well as gender and "weight or other physical characteristics" (look under the "Insensitive" section). I really hope it means things will improve.
