I started Weight Watchers two weeks ago
my second weigh in comes this thursday...

so far so good...

I am trying so hard to be good.

Portion sizes have always been my problem, I come form a big hunky family that eats like every meal is their last.

Changing that is very very hard.

3. One meal at a time
I KNOW it's hard, believe me. Portion control is really difficult especially when the food tastes SO good. You'll do well. Weight Watchers has done very well for a lot of people.

We're here to give you all the support you want and may need.

Best of luck to you as you become a 'loser'.

I was on a few years back & lost almost 70 lbs. I have gained almost half of that back. I am tired of trying on my own. So, tomorrow 2 coworkers & I are signing up.

7. What is happening is natural.
It is physically next to impossible to maintain a straight line decline in weight while on a diet. May I ask if you are exercising? If so, then you may be adding muscle mass that is actually counterbalancing or could even exceed the loss of body fat and at least temporarily you will seem to not drop an ounce even as inches are flying off. I've seen that personally a number of times.

As for eating to relieve stress, that is only as harmful as what you decide to munch on. If you don't have serious problems with blood sugar, try rice cakes and take small bites. Or, give these Larabars that I love so much a try. They're nothing but pure raw food and very healthy as these things go. You could nibble a couple of them throughout the day and not hurt a thing. Also, consider that celery is so low in calories that you can burn it off just by chewing it. You can season it, but preferably not with a lot of salt, and of course the peanut butter or ranch dip are out.

Stay relaxed as much as you can, and don't let any temporary setbacks get you down. And remember, over the course of 3 weeks you have lost an average of 4 pounds a week! That is about right. And, if you were to weigh in exactly the same this week that is still 3 pounds a week. I hope this helps. :)

8. thanks...
I have been really busy lately with coaching soccer and taking care of my kids while my husband travels. I have been trying to get in at least a 20 minute walk every day and work my way back into good enough shape to pull out my mountain bike...

9. Larabars are 4 points each...
so I try to avoid that particular temptation. Kashi TLC chewy bars are only 2 points, though, and it's much easier to fit that into my day. I keep one in my bag for a snack if the distance between lunch and dinner is too far.

You need to feel proud of that, even if you "lived a little." Keep doing what you're doing and you will find yourself at your goal weight before you even realize it. I'm very happy for you!! :D

20. Some weeks I think the weight just rearranges itself
There have been some weeks while I've been on my weight-loss plan (I'm doing NutriSystem) where I feel thinner, and people say I look thinner, but the scale doesn't budge. So I've decided those are the weeks where the weight is rearranging itself on my body. Kind of like redecorating the house, I guess. Or maybe those pounds are getting ready to be launched off my body, but have quite made it to lift-off yet. But usually a week or two later, I'll have a good-size loss.

I've been using the NS foods up until now. (I've lost almost 60 lbs in 6 months) But I'm about to start trying to stick to the plan using my own food that I buy at the grocery store instead. The $300 I've been sending to NS is starting to be a financial strain. But I've come too far to give up now. I think I have the skills to keep it up on my own now. Wish me luck...

the Yo-Yo is up again and I will lose 36 lbs again.

So far- so good. (after 4 days!)

I prepared myself mentally to do this. I'm being positive about it.

22. I went back right before Thanksgiving.
Was dealing with huge weight gain from my diagnosis (IV steroids, depression, etc).

I finally decided a year and a half of pity party was enough! reprehensor and I also joined a gym, so even though I can't do all the stuff I used to, I can get on the recumbent bike, life weights, and swim. Have lost about 8 pounds so far!

28. Ok- second week I lost 1.6 so my total is 6 lbs. Yeah!
I had been walking (outside, about 2 1/2 miles about 4 times a week) but it got crazy cold here and I didn't walk as much. I know that made the loss slower.

But I'm happy!

32. I liked points better, too.
I was doing it online (this time -- years ago, I made Lifetime and even worked for WW for awhile as a weigher/receptionist.)

I should probably try it again. Either WW or counting calories is the only method that works for me since no food is actually prohibited. I also liked earning points with exercise.

Keep me posted! :hi:

33. 6 weeks - 12.8 lbs
Had a great WW meeting yesterday. Our group is really supportive and fun, as is our leader.

I had been sick during the week and one day I was really bad. But I guess the other days when I was 'good' made up for it - I lost 1.8 for the week!

I really love finding 'points friendly' snacks - like those 100 calorie bags of crackers or cookies. And Skinny Cow makes amazing ice cream sandwiches - I hear their cones are good too but haven't tried them.

35. WOW! Great job!
I am hoping to keep my momentum going now too. One theory about why I started off so slow is that after being sick for over 2 months, and sleeping away all my spare time, I htink my metabolism slowed wayyyyy down, and it took time to get it fired up again.

37. 10 weeks - 18.8 lbs lost
I just want to put in a plug for Weight Watchers. There are no drugs, no gimmicks, no big changes in eating habits except, of course, eating healthier foods but smaller portions. Oh, and of course getting exercise.

I my humble opinion this is the safest and best weight loss plan. It works well in the short term and very well as a long term method to keep weight off.

38. Agreed. I've started my 6th week and have lost 8.4 lbs so far. That's
pretty slow, but I don't care. This has got to come off for good this time. I have about 60 lbs to lose, and WW is the only thing that ever worked for me, mainly because of point counting. It is an easy way to count calories, basically, and lets you eat almost whatever you want in small portions. Portion control is the hard part for me, since I like the taste of food, and would just as soon keep on eating just because of the taste!

I have set up rewards for each 10-lb loss; things that I would not normally buy for myself, but would be excellent rewards. First 10 lbs -- a French perfume I loved in college that's no longer available here.
