Thoughts on Diva Cup/Keeper?
I just ordered a Diva Cup, www.divacup.com. I haven't used it yet, but I was wondering if any of you own one and what your thoughts on them are? I'm a bit worried about getting it out. But I'm excited to be able to quit buying tampons and to cut down on waste. :)

:hi:

1. Haven't Tried Those Yet
But let me know how you fare.

Most of the time, I use Instead cups except when: I know I'm going to be using a bathroom where the sink is far, far away from the toilet and there's no way to subtley get to it. ie, public restrooms for multiple users.

I can tell you this: getting away from tampons was bliss. Also - plan on using a back-up mini-maxi for your heavier days. If by chance you should spill, it ain't going to be a trickle.

2. Never heard of the Instead cup,
It seems a bit wider than the Diva Cup, but not as thick. I'll let you know how I like the Diva.

:)

3. I've been wanting to try these
My concern is that I bleed very heavily for a couple of days (I'm talking a tampon every hour or two. Issues here lol!). Please let us know how you like it!

4. That is actually why I bought the Diva cup
I have the same problem, very HEAVY bleeding. The Diva cup was a godsend...it holds WAY more than a tampon. INstead of changing every half hour to hour (yep, going through the super plus tampon and pad every hour, I have issues too, lol), I can go up to 3-4 hours. Bliss I tell you!! lol.
I haven't had any leakage problems either. It was a bit messy at first to take out, but by the end of my first period with it, I got the hang of it. I'd recommend it to anyone! And not just for the whole environmental angle - which is why I purchased it in the first place.

6. Thx for that report ;)
I have to get one these. I swear, I spend a freaking fortune on tampons, and I'm so sick of it! Environmentally it's a good thing, but the real plus is the money saved imo lol.

7. All Righty, I'm Gonna Try It
I found a web store located not too far from me, so decided to go for it.

9. The Verdict, So Far
Surprisingly non-messy, especially compared to the Instead Cup. Very secure. Watch out if you have fingernails, though.

10. One Possible Drawback
It seems to slip upwards and get a *little* leaky when I get, as Lucinda Williams put it, "all worked up like that."

11. I tried to use it this weekend, but
I couldn't get it in. I tend to be a bit "tight". I'll try again next month and do some practicing in between. :)

12. After reading this thread, I went and bought one on Saturday.
The first time I removed it I felt like I was delivering a baby again, but I had left the instruction sheet on the bathroom counter and my 19-year-old son found it inappropriate and stashed it away. When I actually did it the way they recommended it was a lot easier, but I hope I can refine my technique a bit more before trying it in a public restroom stall. It seems to take being a bit of a contortionist when everything but your vagina is large. Even so, I wish I had bought one of these years ago! I've used Wemoons and Gladrags for the environmental benefits, but this little gadget is great. No leaks and very comfy.

13. Has anyone tried the mooncup?
I have one, but I haven't tried it yet (I'm super, super irregular). Has anyone tried it? I'm curious to know and dying to see how it works. About the only time in my life I've been wishing for my period to come along.

14. One of those things I keep saying...
I "should" use for environmental reasons, but haven't. I haven't heard any bad things about them. :)
