Medic Alert provides a storage service for these items--definitely something to consider. Here's information:

If you have a Medic Alert, it is tied to your ID number so that it is very easily accessible if necessary.

I've been in a coma--far different situation than Ms. Schiavo, but I'm very concerned about this and keen on the specifics.

I think this is a great idea, especially for those of us with conditions that merit more than a passing thought to "What if?"

Edit: Currently available in the US only; cost is $20 a year for advance directives.
