STAN FREBERG TO RECEIVE TV ACADEMY L.A. AREA GOVERNORS AWARD

LEGENDARY TELEVISION PERFORMER, satirist, radio and advertising innovator Stan Freberg will receive the prestigious 2006 Los Angeles Area Governors Award, which takes place on Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre at 5:00 pm.

The live-to-tape show will air as a one-hour special on KTLA on Aug. 26, from 9:00-10:00 pm in Los Angeles. The Governors Award honors a lifetime of broadcasting achievement.

This year's show will be hosted by television personality KEITH OLBERMANN, host of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann, the hour-long nightly newscast in which he counts down the top news stories of the day.

1. Just heard about this.

My sympathies are with Keith for having to fly under these circumstances.

Oh well, at least he should come back with some interesting firsthand stories to tell.

When he wasn't on Dan Patrick's show this afternoon, I feared he might have already begun his trip. But maybe he just skipped it so as to do a better job on the TERRA TERRA TERRA show tonight.

I wouldn't expect to see him tomorrow on Countdown, though. He'll probably have to spend all day at the airport just to board the plane.

For that matter, don't expect him on Monday, either. Unless he's spending another week out there and plans to give us West Coast shows this time. *sigh*
