Posts 17 and 18 on that thread have more info about the "media blaster". I don't have a directory for college newspapers, but I found one for college radio stations. I looked that up because we're looking at trying to get college radio to pick-up The BradShow.

Is harvesting email addresses for Tom something the KOEB could organize?

Sorry that my post didn't do a good job of explaining the need.

There are a few projects cooking that all could use a list of email addresses for college radio stations and newspapers. The discussions converged on one thread and prompted my plea.

One has to do with getting word out about The Brad Show and seeing if we can find college radio stations that will re-broadcast it. I've been in touch with Brad and the network that's broadcasting the show. We now know it's technically and legally feasible, so it's time to work on contacting the stations.

A third effort is Melissa G's idea to send articles to college newspapers in hope that they'll re-print.

It's neat that the thread emerged in that the three projects, and the two outlets are largely interchangeable.


We've got some directories for the stations and papers, but it's no small task to go through them all and "harvest" the email addresses. That's why I wondered if KOEB, being a cohesive group, could take on the task as a group, dividing the workload and managing the "bringing it all together". :hug:

Tommcintyre could then build an "email blaster" that, in addition to serving these projects, could be used, for instance, by election reform groups. He explains the formatting requirement here:

Sure, I'd be willing to give some time to this. Let's see if there are any other EDVs who are interested, and then we can decide how to divide up the work so there's no duplication of efforts.
