He meant for the Saturn story to be the #2 story, but when for some reason they couldn't get Fay Vincent ready to do Barry Bonds as the #4 story, they had to switch gears in midstream and make the #2 story the #4 story. He must've forgotten to scribble a change on his script.

My favorite part of the whole night: when they came back on air and caught him pushing his glasses back up on his nose. :loveya:

73. I didn't realize you were divorced

I have a good friend, also divorced from a sex addict but his addiction ran a lot deeper than the guy described on Countdown last night. Or it was worse than what the guy publicly admitted to. You're well out of it, Grey, and I hope that guy they showed last night doesn't relapse. It can get very ugly and it's such a depressing subject because a lot of people don't "get" sex addiction in the way they grok drug or alcohol addiction. They think, "hey sex is great, a sex addict? I'd love to have that problem!" not understanding the obsession, the shame, the risk-taking, the financial ruin, the destruction of personal relationships, etc. -- all the crap that comes with it.

Just saying...

The news was good, and the bits were good, but I was underwhelmed. I'm happy he's showed up from Tampa, and other nights this week have been great, but tonight? Eh.

And the ending was definitely what you would call "anticlimactic." I wonder if, after he was safely off air, Keith sighed and said "Get a roll of stamps." Maybe the pressure of having to do the show while on vacation is wearing on him. All the more reason for us to be glad he's put in so much effort.

74. well, a lot of the news he was reporting on was kind of depressing

the Dubai ports deal is supposedly resolved... but given *'s track record, it's reasonable to suspect there's something shady about this resolution. Water on Saturn's moon... that was good. The Barry Bonds controversy, day gazillion... Selig takes action at last... and does the wrong thing. Snarking on O'Reilly is fun, but the idea that people are being harrassed for calling a talk radio show and simply mentioning KO's name is not uplifting. And then there's the sex addiction story, which made me wonder if the guy's still a sex addict and his wife doesn't know it. Perhaps KO was entertaining similar doubts or maybe he was thinking about those little old ladies who are being evicted or maybe he's been staying up late talking baseball. Or it could just be one of his non-bouncy weeks. Some weeks he's just bustin' with energy and snark. Others, less so.
