The idiot got out and meandered down the driveway, took a left at the sidewalk, got about 50 feet before he realized it was damned cold. So he tried to scamper on top of the snow, but halfway back, he broke through the upper crust. Oh, and all this happened about 1 a.m., when I put the garbage outside.

He's of the mega church persuasion, so he feels he's above all the other ministries by having 10,000+ members. My church has at least 100 members but we're more loving and dedicated in the line of obedience to the tenets of the Scriptures than all mega churches combined. Besides, being a Christian doesn't mean you have to be uppidy and arrogant. You just have to show love to those in need and do what God has called you to do.

That was the moment when I finally, actually, started to cry.

Because it brought it all home for me.

Because it was something I grew up doing, something that meant something to me and connected this day to everything in my past. Like a Catholic saying the rosary or something.

I know it was completely out of the experience of some of you, and to some of you it was arrogant and sounded like he was taking the day and making it "for Protestants only."

But it didn't come across that way to me. Not any more than Lowry came off as making it "for churchgoing African Americans only."

I know that probably doesn't make sense. But that was my experience.

I can't relate to the rest of Warren at all. I could have done without him. Gladly. And I think having Lowry there negated him somewhat.

But that was the ONE part of what he said that I couldn't really argue with. Not in terms of other people, but in terms of me.
