How does one become a delegate?
And what responsibilities does it entail? My local Dem club asked me if I would like to run for delegate. I'll talk to them more at the next meeting, but meanwhile, I'd like to get some information on being a delegate. Does anyone have any links or personal experience they can share with me?
Thanks.

2. Go for it!!!
I presume that this is a precinct delegate. It means that you'll go to county Dem meetings as a credentialed, voting member. You can then run for delegate to the district and then for the state conventions. State delegates can be credentialed at the national convention, which is ultra cool. (You get to wear funny hats and appear on TV.)

Delegates basically run the party apparatus. It's fun stuff for pols like us DUers.

4. you have to get involved with one of the candidates
If you make the list as an approved Delegate for one of the candidates, you are then on the ballot. Delegate are awarded proportionally to the vote in a congressional district. The threshhold is that candidates must get 15 percent to get delegates.
