argh. my body hates me.
some of this fibromyalgia shit has kept my from exercising for most of my adult life. long before i am winded from any cardio, my joints are aching, and my muscles are screaming.
i did a half hour bike ride yesterday. it was the third day in a row that i exercised, even though none of it was heavy. 15 minutes of yoga one day, 5 minutes of yoga, 15 on the gazelle on the second. my left leg was just screaming last night, and is whimpering at me today. it was ok when i woke up, but i walked a few blocks, and ooowwww.
i am going to go take a muscle relaxant now, which will help. i take one at bedtime, and take them when i have pain. i hate to take them all the time, but i wonder if i shouldn't just make it a habit to take one after working out. i don't know if they really make me sleepy, as i am always a little sleepy. this one is not supposed to. maybe in the long run if they help me work out more, i will need them less.
argh.
rant off.

1. my cousin has that
she's currently training for a half-marathon walk & takes a muscle relaxant as well as ibuprofen for the pain. her doc okayed that. have you talked to your doctor about doing this? it really seems to help my cousin.

3. pain relievers make me worse.
that is a classic symptom. your cousin is lucky that ibuprophen works for her.
i am making friends with the meds i am on, but along the way i have taken a lot of meds that made me worse or did nothing. the muscle relaxants help a lot, and i am trying them out in connection with the exercise. before, after, what?
i am pretty sick of pills. but pills that work are growing on me.

4. is your mom getting good care?
it took me a long time to get a dx, and helpful meds. in fact, it was warpy, here on du, that told me what was wrong with me, after several years of doctors, tests, med trials, and much bs. it should have been as plain as day to at least 2 of the docs i saw, including a rheumatologist that i saw for 2 years.

5. She suffered for a good 2 years before any relief
it was determined that she had diabetes and she started working out some and she's seen some relief. There are still good days and bad, but the good days are finally starting to outnumber the bad ones.

6. muscle relaxants really help.
if she has never seen a sleep doc/had a study, she should. both fibro and diabetes are made much worse by sleep troubles.
