I'm freaking out just a little.
OK, maybe a lot. I have the chance to start dating again after almost five years of singlehood. I don't know if I wanna do it. It's too scary to get to know someone from scratch, especially if there's dating involved. I swear it makes me feel a bit nauseous just thinking about it. I wanna hide under my bed. :scared:

1. Oh

Do know this person or is it a blind date? I find I do better if I know the person before I go out with them.

2. I know him a bit, only in passing.
New people are so hard to talk to. But he seems not crazy, so that's a plus. :)

3. I'm a firm believer in the idea "if it doesn't feel natural, don't' do it"
i understand being scared, but it sounds like you don't really want to date. do you feel like you are forcing yourself to do something you aren't ready for?

4. Probably
Now I feel like I have to because it's hard for me to articulate my feelings and I feel bad when I have to withdraw from them... People are scary to me. :(

5. You sound a very interesting person, BushIs A PoohHead.
"But he seems not crazy, so that's a plus". (smiley)

With a lovely quirky sense of humour, and rather low expectations, it seems...!

6. Oh,
thanks.

The guy I was talking about in this thread and I didn't work out. I just got rid of him two days ago. It turns out he was severely annoying (singing Rick Astley tunes, WTF???) and just too immature for me. He's seven years younger than me. He's only 21. And damnit, he's too boring for me. He's not that into politics. :(

My philosophy is NO EXPECTATIONS. Ever. About anything. That way you can't get too disappointed when nothing happens, which has been a problem with me in the past.

But onto the next guy, I guess. Whatever happens, happens. :hi:

7. You can give it a try
just plan a short outing, like a coffee house visit early. If it doesn't fly, you can go when you want. If it does, the day is open.

Have fun!

8. Thanks for the advice.
I'm usually too nervous to think coherently about dating strategery. :pals:
