I'm stuck! What do I call my contest photo?
Edited on Thu Oct-13-05 12:18 AM by intheflow
I keep thinking "Strength of Conviction/Stength of Force." But you know, the cops may have strength in their convictions about their jobs, so that seems pretty rude. How about "Strength in Numbers/Strength in Arms"? I'm obviously trying to highlight both kinds of strength in the photo, dividing it like the barrier in the middle, but every title I come up with sucks.

Or maybe I should just go with "Strength of Character"? I think the title goes with the subject matter, but I think the top shot is the better, more interesting, photograph.

Which one? What should I call it? Please help!

1. Power to the People!
I like the first photo better because it shows ordinary people vs. the apparatus, but the second is great for the kind of people's alliance that we need/have.

Another possibility is to use Patti Smith's song title "People Have the Power." See text at http://www.oceanstar.com/patti/lyrics/people.htm

4. I love that Patti Smith song!
But the photo title still eludes me. Don't know why I'm feeling so set on having the word "strength" to describe both sides of the fence. Maybe I'm just a little OCD.

5. Either photo?
I don 't see that with the second photo. But I suppose Strength In Numbers could be the single title for the top shop. Hmmm...

9. Sorry, you meant in the literal sense. I misunderstood.
I said both because the crowd in D.C. was so huge. But the 2nd one is more of a close-up of two people with a strong passion for peace.

7. that's funny, because I thought the same title.
But what kind of strength would that illustrate?

8. I don't think the word "strength" necessarily has to be in the title
The strenghth of the people is very evident in the photo. Even though we are a nation divided, your photo shows that people are not afraid to take a stand.

But at the same time, you also have to keep in mind how people in the lounge are going to be thinking. And many times, you have to spell it out for them, so I don't know.

10. Thanks, All!
I went with Power to the People. Once I let go of my obsession with using "strength" in the title, it was a no-brainer. :hi:
