Haute Couture. Vegas Style - note the contrasts - and do take a look!
It's really hard to quit folks.

I have rarely had so much material in such a short time, and I feel some of it is still worth showing. Thanks for your being receptive, interested and kind in your comments.

Also take note of the lives of potentially hidden desperation

6. Correct, quite depressing, in ways different from other large cities, yet the misery
is also found in my city, and in yours. It only dresses differently, is a bit more hidden and when encountered it is less blatant.

For all those who have never been to Las Vegas, and now don't want to go after seeing my photos, I could have made a case that would make them want to step on a plane to go there and kick up some dust. I have those photos as well.
But that would not have been an honest portrayal of seeing the city through my own eyes.

7. Oh, I know. I have been there too
many times... too many times... there is a certain seediness that only LV and AC really have, the hope that everything will change on the next card, the next pull, the next hit

it is sad

8. Undoubtedly you said a mouthful.

I have gone to AC - Atlantic City - every November for a convention for a number of years. In the too much information department, I have my camera. But I take almost no pictures.

AC is a cesspool of casinos that drain and diminish what the city could be. It is without charm (OK - there is the boardwalk, but only the side of the ocean, the other side is casinos breeding misery.)

AC is a city that has in no way benefited from the influx of money from the casinos, it is a total example of the top getting the benefits and the bottom suffering.
AC is a city that is howling with the sound of emergency or police vehicles all the time unlike any other I have ever been in.

AC is a city with jewelry sellers with merchandise they have bought from the desperate (whatever the reason) who are for some reason mostly Russians behind doors and barricaded windows the only way you can get in is by ringing a bell and getting OKed by the proprietor.

AC is the pits.
And I will not show it to you in pictures.

4. Excellent photos - And yet another reason I won't go to Vegas
An artificial city built in an unlivable environment, inhabited by people who don't realize they are living somewhere that should never have been constructed in the first place.
