A waterfall from me - I'm going through my photos from Costa Rica
I'm trying to learn about slowing down the exposure, and have it still look like water.
Like I already said, I took this and others thinking of what regnaD could do in my place

1. You're getting there!
What shutter speed did you use in this photo?

2. Beautiful. I think you nailed it wrt:
"slowing down the exposure, and have it still look like water."

I think I like this picture enough that, if it were me, I'd take the time to photoshop out the human element I'm seeing in the middle of the rocks.

4. Thanks! I'm quite uncertain of my waterfall photos
your comment makes me feel less incompetent. I recently installed photoshop and will make it one of my learning projects, unless Trusty Elf comes around.
Of course, after he removes the offending element, he makes it re-appear at the top in the shape of a UFO.

5. They are all wonderful, Mira.
And they do still look like water. They are gorgeous. :hi:

6. That's a nice shot Mira.
I took away the unidentified non-flying object on the rocks for you.

It was difficult for me, but I resisted adding anything!

:hi:

7. OH - you just made my morning!
It does make a big difference, and I thank you so much.
You popping in though makes me even more happy. In those rivers, I swear, you see rocks coming down the path the size of VW bugs.

I hope you are well. And I also hope I will learn photoshop soon. Or my camera, whichever comes first.
:)

I think you've got the hang of it, Mira. Thank you for taking us on your travels with you through your photos. You go to so many beautiful places.

13. This one's for you
I could post one a day until the cows come home, and after that one a day of cows coming home.
(On Costa Rica's godawful roads every time you round a corner there are cows in the street)

I can't chose them, this is on a cloudwalk connecting up treetops through hanging bridges. The size of the leaves and trees is indescribable, and I can't show it in the photos.

9. what beautiful lush locations
and the fact that you were able to capture it is so cool. I do like the pics very much and the re-do of Trusty Elf is perfect. I think you got the idea of water in motion very well, and if I stop for a minute, I think I can feel the cool moist mist coming off the breaks.

12. Thank you, Sheepshank,
I got lucky. To be there, and also to be able to bring home memories.

10. Beautiful!
It's the kind of scene where one's heart would ache having to walk away from it.

16. I did not want to see Avatar.
Don't much like Science Fiction. Don't much like 3-D movies unless they are the huge Max kinds in the Disney tradition.
And don't much like animation.

When I walked out of Avatar I turned to my companion and my question was: "When do you have time to come back and see it again?"
(one week later)
