A pair of herons
Spotted them today at the local wetlands mitigation/tidepool/estuary/swamp/water treatment park :)

3. I love this sort of composition where the eye gets to zigzag back through the space.
Good work!

4. Interesting. I like the meandering feel to it. Most
of those that I see (amazing how much birds seem to like wastewater treatment facilities) look more like river deltas.

We have lots of them around here, too, and I never get tired of seeing them. :hi:

6. Love them!!
I've been wanting to go to our waste treatment plant but I hear it is very stinky. Doesn't bother the birds, though, and sometimes some rare ones there even draw tourists in.

I love the look of your photo. It certainly has the look of a natural setting.

7. I should be clearer
the area is a natural wetland but the city also located the treatment facility there. They do a good job because it doesn't really smell. This picture is from the wetland portion of the area.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I am also discovering how if I let the picture come to me, it seems to be better. I could never have planned this. :)

8. Couldn't agree more
My philosophy is when the photographer is ready, the picture will appear. So much for still life. ;)

10. great catch
You managed a kind of surreal quality to it (lots of saturation?).

I think you may be hooked. Aren't you having a blast? I love it!

11. Oh yes, I am hooked!
On this shot he only 'flew' about 3 feet. Later he did get up in the air but I have trouble finding moving objects in the lens, not to mention being quick enough with changing settings to catch him........... :)
