Surf's up!!!
Drove to the ocean this morning to get some pics during high tide.

The pier was closed. Duh.

The waves put on quite a show.

1. You should have heard me suck in my breath.
These are mind blowing in how scary and wild they look and how cold.
Beautiful capture, I think I'm most partial to three, but I could make a case for any of them.
Thanks!

3. Is that the Berkeley pier?
Been so long since I've been down to civilization I can't tell.

I hope you used a telephoto.

4. Pacifica
South of San Francisco. Not too far from Rockaway Beach.

And yes I used a telephoto. The beach was closed and the waves were so big at times that they came up to the retaining wall at the sidewalk.

'Tis the season for big waves. The Mavericks surfing competition was happening down at Half Moon Bay. These crazy surfers get out there on 40 ft. waves. :scared:

5. You definitely captured the power
going on there. I love the arching mist above those big curls as they come down. :hi:

7. Oh wow!
Those are some powerful waves. Love the ones where you can see the curve of the waves.
