Bella: My ten month old Golden Retriever
She weighed in at 75 lbs at the Vet on Sunday. And they say that Golden Retriever bitches don't reach their full weight until they're two years old! She sleeps in a kennel at the foot of our bed, door open. She's the last pet I'll ever have, because I can't imagine any other pet giving me as much joy as she does... Last winter she loved the snow so much she'd bury her head in a snowbank so deeply you couldn't see her ears. It was like she was looking for something in there!

2. She's been a joy since the day we brought her home.
I found a website for a breeder in San Luis Obispo, CA. They breed English Golden Retrievers. I looked through their page of puppies for sale, and as soon as I saw her picture, I knew I had to have her.

First up for our experience together was a 5 1/2 hour ride home in the back of my Tahoe. I thought it would be disastrous, and that she'd get car sick. NNNNnope! And when I stopped to let her out, Bella, who's never been on a leash before, walked by my side and then did her business in about five minutes.

One of my very favorite things about her is the fact that she'll stay in her open kennel all night long, and wake us up in the morning for her walk with the quietest of noises, getting progressively louder until we finally acknowledge her.

The first time I put a dog biscuit on her nose and told her to "stay", she looked me in the eye until I said "GET IT", and she picked it out of the air. First time. Here's another picture for ya:

3. The breed stole my heart 23 years ago.
I am so glad you got her from a reputable serious breeder. She looks marvelous. Nice blocky head and body.
Our golden weighs 80-85 pounds, btw. He just turned 3.
Vet says he "should " weigh less, but the standard says 80 for males.

I would never ever have a Golden if I could not be home with it during the day, so waited years to get another one. Every day is rewarding and surprising with this breed. We often sit around and just stare at him, for the pure joy of it.

4. Without any question whatsoever, labradors and goldens are the VERY best dogs.
I'm a total dog-lover, but the labradors (I had a black lab) and goldens (a very close second) are my idea of the perfect dogs. Temperament, intelligence, personality, physical configuration ... everything. Bella is BEAUTIFUL. :loveya:

You're lucky she's a blond ... black labs are very difficult to photograph and capture a glimpse of their character.
