1. I am thrilled with the choices (tho I miss Mo Red in the lineup) and I was

as all of you know simply carried away with the theme. Thanks for indulging my whims of posting my "rejects", and even jumping in and sharing yours.
I think the photos simply sing, and I am so proud to have been in the mix.

Mr. Myth44sc - congratulations from the bottom of my psyche, and also to the other winners, I have taken deep breaths every time I saw your photos.
Onward and upward.

16. I just found your question. As I've watched the last contests, the themes of the new contest were

presented in a poll.
I have seen the polls evolve from previous finished contests. Also I've seen ideas pop up.
I want to propose two things:
A new color, simply because I remember how stymied I was with the idea of the color "red", and how obsessing about it has temporarily enriched my life.
Any other color could continue that ( I am currently involved in preparing for orange and yellow)

but then there is my passion for rusted metal.

It's a start.

You organized this and had bunches of tests at the same time.

Like Mira, I had a LOT of favorites--Mo Red, for sure, Red Runners, and the tulips, that didn't quite make the list. I'm sure I am forgetting others. Either the topic was especially interesting or everyone is stepping up their game a lot.

I love the top three though. I can't argue with the results at all. I just wish more could have won.

9. It was hard to choose

It was tempting to post them all as my favourites. I'm sure no one would have objected. Everyone had a lot of fun playing with this theme and I loved how we all started seeing red everywhere.

Congrats to ALL. Thge submissions for this contest were wonderful to look at and contemplate.

I - of course - cheated by using maybe my favorite photo - which required little more of me than to head outside just before 7:00 AM one December morning.

I'm looking forward to hosting the next contest and to your ideas as to its subject matter. After that - I think I'll be off to other things for awhile unless or until I can manage to post a photo of something that does not look like that lake and those cypress trees.

Ahhhhh but its been a nice run while it lasted ... :-)

:) We're going on a road trip to Fairbanks for three days leaving tomorrow morning, so hopefully I'll have some photos of my world to share with you early next week. Maybe I'll get lucky and see some wildlife, too.

Did you use any filters, etc? I love how you caught the bird in it too. I liked the red night one a little better, but yours was probably my second choice. This was really an outstanding collection of photos.

It's a pleasure to be associated with this group, and I always look forward to seeing what everyone has to offer.

Being able to experience all the different perspectives is life-enriching, in and of itself, as well as being a tremendous educational tool for this hobby we all enjoy so much.

First, I'm very happy to see the picks for Host's Choice awards. All excellent and all very deserving.

This contest more than any recent one was less noteworthy as a competition and more a chance for the entrants to participate in a very, very impressive group exhibition. Fantastic entries.
