2. you can do both... film cameras are dirt cheap
on ebay, and you can buy arista film (re-branded tri-x) for 1.99 a roll, developing and scanning cost nothing

come on... the dark side beckons!

3. Oh, I've still got an old Pentax 35mm.
I used to have a B&W darkroom setup, too (sold it when I moved from DC to CA). I still miss the vinegar-y smell of the developer.

all you need is a changing bag and reels and a tank... no trays, and the big expense, no paper
