I like the Beacon for the perspective.

2. Nice
I particularly enjoyed "Lonely."

The "Spiral stairs" shot - was that manipulated?

4. Beacon, Stairs, and Lonely my faves
Stairs caught my eye first, but Lonely gave me pause. It drew me in.

All very good. Thanks for sharing.

 :hi:

6. Interestingly, "Spiral Stairs" Was Taken in Frustration
I decided to climb to the top of the Ponce de Leon Inlet lighthouse (second tallest in the US), but my fiance wanted to remain on solid ground. So I took my camera but left the camera case with her, and climbed all the way to the top of the lighthouse (it's not as easy as it looks). It was all worth it once I got to the top and was treated to spectacular views in all directions.

I went to take some great photos and received a message: battery empty.

I tried and tried to get it to work, to no avail.

Finally, frustrated, I made my descent, found my fiance and told her of my woes. I turned on the camera to show her the battery emtpy message... and it worked. I pointed up and said, "I am NOT climbing all those stairs again." And I took a photo of them. It turned out to be one of my favorite shots, because the way that the railings and the landings are spaced apart creates a strange "broken" illusion.

10. "Broken"
That's what I was wondering about when I asked about that shot. Looks whacked :)

12. Yeah... If You Study It Closely
You'll see that on the right hand side, it's all level landings, and on the left hand side, it's all stairs. That's why it looks that way.

It makes for a cool effect though, IMO. :)

The composition, color, lighting ... it's a very powerful and evocative photo, imho. Even the posture of the fellow, and the way you've shifted him to the side. Wow! He didn't even leave footprints!

7. Why is there a ski lift on the pier?

Spiral Stairs is a fantastic shot :) I really like it, so is Lonely.

9. You Could Ride to the End of the Pier for Like $3 or Something
I didn't have the guts though. I too thought it was strange to have a ski lift on a pier, but that's exactly what it looked like.
