2. I received the pics at the youtube site in an e-mail today, and

they really are stunning; the youtube doesn't do them justice, but I couldn't find a link to the actual pix. Oh well, I tried.

3. National Geographic is the world's best magazine

in my opinion. I've seen photos in some issues of NG that were more spectacular and beautiful than some of the ones in the "best of" article linked above, but some are still remarkable.
